Any of the new gear, like Viper’s can be crafted much easier by just making a version with the already existing stats and transforming it in the Mystic Forge at the cost of 5 Ecto and some spirit shards. (Because the Exotic Viper’s Insignia/Inscription is already part of the Ascended Insignia/Inscription recipe.)

Am I missing something? Why would anyone take the time to acquire all those tokens for Fulgurite? I plan on keeping all of mine for the Maguma Mastery Legendary recipe.

Probably part of a cheap way to ensure that those without the expansion can’t cleverly find a way to get the armor stats anyway.

That’s actually completely irrelevant to the Fulgurite.

In order to make the recipe that uses the Fulgurite, they need an exotic insignia/inscription anyway, and if they have that, then they can just stat swap.

yeah.. cheapest way now is to simply craft Rampager version, and swap stats at MF…. probably just to catch those who are still unaware of the stats swap…. lol

EDIT : nvm, asked guildie, he said he forged his Viper ascended armor through stats swapping…

Let’s post about it some more and they might fix it

You say that like it’s not. It’s impossible to know if it’s intended or not until it’s change or ANet comments on it.

My issue is that the ’cost’s are so different. Gathering 75 of all those tokens is a lot of work and it’s not saving you much of anything. Are the new stats supposed to be more powerful than the old ones? Is that why there insignia’s/inscriptions have to be ‘jeweled’? You should get an upgrade extra slot or something if you ‘jewel’ them.
