Why is it that these beta portal keys are only being dropped in PvE?!

Yet again anet is completely ignoring WvW and sPvP players!

Some of use spend a lot more time in WvW than farming in SW or DT, but here you are forcing us to do more PvE!

The beta is for content revolving around Mordremoth/Maguuma….When you find Mordrem to fight in Wvw/PvP let us know..
Maybe when they come closer to the Wvw map beta that’s when they’ll open it up to Pvp/Wvw sources

Didnt stop anet from showering WvW with PvE event mobs during the Scarlet Living Story, so why stop now :P

In fact there are still damaged towers in WvW just sitting there for no reason!

There’s no context for that to happen with the current threats of the LS though. Unless you’d rather the Mordrem take over towers/keeps and you have to fight PvE mobs to take them back.

Wrong. Scarlet’s mobs were popping up in random locations across almost all the maps. Mordrem have a specific point of interest and that is taking key locations such as Fort Salma and Concordia. Also the forts in Silverwastes. The mordrem leech through waypoints. As I said already unless you want the mordrem occupying Bay or Hills and you have to fight them to even take a keep you owned back instead of your normal WvW combat rotations, feel free.

The point of your thread was asking why ANET is ignoring Pvp/Wvw players by only making the portals accessible in PvE. My answer is the method Anet is providing to give access to their PvE beta. If you read my first comment you’ll notice I said when they get closer to beta for their WvW map they’ll open access to the WvW community. You may have forgotten they already gave us a whole day of gameplay for the beta of the PvP map. All is left is the WvW map’s beta and again i’ll repeat this beta is most likely PvE content, therefore the context of how it’s given out is for PvE

the portal should drop anywhere in game and everybody would have the same chance of getting it without being forced to play 2 pve maps they may not enjoy. Maybe with an increased chance in drytop and sw if they want to promote them maps and encourage people to play in them. At least players who would rather not join silverwastes or drytop are not excluded

If Anet has a closed beta for the new WvW map, would you rather it be populated with WvW players or PVE farmers? Would you have the same objection if WvW closed beta tickets were falling across Tyria?

Those questions are both rhetorical but feel free to answer in the negative and see why your question is self-explanatory.

Id assume if the same system was to be used for a wvw beta and tokens dropped only in wvw there would be uproar from pve players about being forced to play wvw and wvw players about maps being full and not being able to play what they enjoy.

Probably because the next beta test will be a test of PvE systems?

Maybe they’ll to a WvW lottery before a WvW test (mmm, new borderlands) and we can listen to the popcorn popping sounds of all the PvE player’s heads exploding as they complain they can’t get access to a test that’s not relevant to the game mode they play in…

where did u get info about what the next beta would be testing?

all I’ve seen so far is a post about the portals dropping for players to gain access to it, but nothing about what they intend on testing or anything saying they are only testing pve aspects.

Surely the new trait system would need testing soon if they plan on testing it as the system is to go live before hot release?

why would people who dont want to pve, want to play a pve beta.

It’s a PvE beta. Having these drops in the Maguuma Wastes ensures that beta invites go to active (enough) players who have characters that are at least level 80. As you can be level 2 or higher in WvW, beat testing level 80+ PvE content is probably not the best idea.
