Why only 4 baseline Legends and not 5?
Why only 4 baseline Legends and not 5?

My problem is lower number of utility skills compared to old classes. Why on the earth rev has olny 12 utility skills and 15 with elite spec when old classes got 20+4 from elite? That makes absolutely 0 sense. On top of that basically 0 stunbreakers..
Racial skills are not something i care about tho.
Having a Stunbreaker is a decision you have to make yourself. If you want one, you have to pick Invocation. If you do you have a Stunbreak on a 10 second Cooldown (that is the CD for Legend Swap IIRC). The only Profession with a lower CD Stunbreaker is Necro with Traited Death Shroud and Foot in the Grave with 7 seconds.
Having a stun breaker isn’t a choice. In PvP, it (and condi removal, for that matter) is a kitten -near requirement to get into the door. That’s the number one reason why you don’t see builds like trap rangers maintain meta status.
Personally, I am perfectly ok with the fixed utility skills with each legend. However, I do feel that due to this fixed nature, it would have been better to allow 2 weapon sets and have weapon swapping. That simple change would allow us not only more customization, but would allow us to choose a weapon to fit with each legend. For example, you could have a staff for when you call Ventari, and a hammer for when you call Jalis.
I suspect there may be some balancing reasons behind having no weapon swap, but I feel this would help ease many people’s concerns with the revenant’s customization options. That said, I felt the rev played well enough and I am still very much looking forward to making a revenant.
On topic, I agree with those who think we will be getting 4 base legends and 1 elite. It certainly does fit with the idea the 5th traitline is invocation, and therefore not tied to any particular legend.
As to racial skills, I am not sure if Anet has confirmed one way or the other, but I would be very surprised if the rev cannot use them.
.
Each legend should have 5 skills like engineer to keep them up on par with old classes. As it stand snow i agree that legend most likely will be bring up olny to 1 skill. For example Jalis – road is possibly the olny useful skill there unless hammers hits like a truck, i found the taunt and rite to be useless in current state in beta.
Taunt takes 50 energy, 1sec castime for 2sec cc..nty. Rite is supposed to be a stunbreak yet it lock us into 3sec animation which is nothing else but a selfdaze, it eats 50 energy for mere 50% damage reduction which last 5seconds..
Both skill were justiced before the nerfs but now they made them useless, while rite is an elite so nvm that one i cant swap the taunt skill for something more useful, nor i cant swap the hammers if i dont run power build turning it into useless skill. Where is the “synergy” between skills?

I already explained why that stunbreak is a joke. How many necros do you see popping up ds to breakstun actually? Just bc it has 7 seconds cd it doesnt make it 7 second stunbreak as nobody use it that way. Like i said its similiar to a forced weapon swap to stunbreak which may put you into bad position, act yolo and swap to ranged weapon when a thief is in your face. No class loses their bar of utility skills and builded up energy just to break stun. Not to mention that you basically cant swap legend to have your stunbreak up < for that reason you dont see necros breaking stun with ds as they have to use it also in a offensive form but unlike necros rev doesnt have any stunbreaks and lackluster condi removal if you dont pick up ventari
Imagine thief being forced to lose 50% of ini and wep swap to stunbreak and so on.
Every class has stunbreak on utilities or even on tclass mechanic+stability, revenant should follow the same pattern and if not they should gain flat 70% damage reduction during cc to compensate. As it stands now they never make it into pvp in current state.
To put it short;
-no reliable stunbreaks, if any at all.
-lack of condi removal if you dont choose support ventari so you basically picking whole bar of utilities just to get condi removal
-lack of block, evade skills, escape mechanics
-lack of soft cc like cripple, chill, immo
-lack of mobility on weapon sets forcing everyone to pick up shiro
-low amount of hard cc
-lack of burst skills on weapon sets again forcing people to pick up shiro and possibly glint
-most important part is lack of invul skills making them an easy prey in teamfights as people will burst revenant down without any issues cause they wont be able to escape/survive focus – reminds you something?
They simply created pve class that has no place in pvp settings as it stands now and thats all cus class designer was lazy and incompetent. Fancy animations wont cut the issues revenant has.

As for their elite spec, looking from datamined effects on stances it seems Glint will be placed on f2 key and work completely different from current legends. Glint has signet icons for a good reason.

what gives you that idea of f2?
yeah the whole glint legend looks like Signet skills. I wonder if they stay in passive when switching legends.
Offhand classes will gain addiotional mechanic. Glint is signet based so for that reason i think it may end up as f2 key. Cause what else? Transforming into dragon or something?
