Will Hero Challenges award materials as well as Hero Points?

At the moment, if I do a Skill Challenge, I open the way for a future Hero Point, as well as get a skill point I can hold onto which will be exchanged for a crafting mat when the new specialization system goes live.

So, if Hero Challenges only award a Hero Point once we make the transition, it’s in everyone’s best interest to do the Skill Challenges now. Unless Hero Challenges will continue to reward mats as well ash HP.

I’m not 100% sure but from what I’ve read and heard, any Skill Point from a Skill Challenge you’ve already done will be converted into Hero Points, and not the Mystic Forge currency. I think what’s going to happen is once the patch happens is they’ll look at your total number of completed Skill Challenges, and also the total number of HP you get from leveling and do a calculation of total HP you would have from them. As there is a limit to how much HP you have, any HP over the cap would be converted to the new currency. You won’t get both Hero Points and the Mystic Forge currency from the same Skill Challenge even if you do it now. You’ll get one or the other.
