Will I be able to use a Birthday scroll then 60 Tomes of Knowledge on my Revenant to instant level 80 it?

Yes. Don’t believe the rumors that you will only be able to use the times of knowledge once per day. Anet has not made any indication that they will do that.

All indications, or rather no indication to the contrary, that you will be able to use to to level to 80.

You will still need to do an unconfirmed number of hero points in order to unlock the elite specialization.

Finally, you are going to have your hands full leveling all the Masteries. From what I saw during the Portal Beta, it is going to take a lot of experience and work to level up and unlock all the Masteries. Just maxing out one of the Masteries may be the equivalent of leveling a new toon from 1 to 80. I have a load of Birthday Boosters just for leveling up Masteries.

They said on a live stream that you need level 80 + 60 hero challenges to fully unlock everything on a profession, and that you will be able to use tomes of knowledge to get to 80.

Also, all characters are going to have a hard time unlocking masteries. Everyone starts at zero when the expansion hits.

All excess experience that we have earned in the first 3 years was turned into the hero points, or whatever you use to purchase stuff from Miyani now.

So your fresh level 80 revenant will be at the same starting point as a 3 year 80.

Singling this out to remind folks that that was the original version (and it was 65). They revised it so you now have everything unlocked at 80, excluding the Elite specializations which will probably need plenty of challenges.

I don’t see any reason Tomes won’t work. Revenants aren’t getting any special treatment in the starting process. It’s up to the individual whether they want to skip forward like that.

I have a zillion Tomes but I hate skipping. I like playing the character through the world to get a feel for it both in game play and in RP personality. I have more than enough 80’s to experience HoT right away, I can wait to bring my Rev(s) through.

They have confirmed that Tomes will continue to give one level for characters under level 80 and spirit shards for characters over lvl 80 after the expansion. There’s no reason Revenants would be singled out by making tomes not work for them.

Yes you can but remember adventures are being added to the core game so world completion would be more rewarding

You sure about that? And is that referring to masteries as part of it? Because if not, I could have sworn that simply being level 80 was enough to unlock all the traits and skills.

Excluding the Elite-Spec, which was the point.

of course you will be able to, why would they restrict ?
