Guild Wars 2

With the first expansion for FF they sorta threw down the hammer, with “You have to have completed all the parts of the story to be able to get to the new zones”.

Why I ask is because I have every class at 80, even 2x Necro’s(for some dumb reason).
But i’ve only completed the story on 2 of them. Cause I had no reason to touch the PS on the others(pvp).

But that makes me think, will I be able to enjoy HoT day 1 even If I choose to play on of my classes that’s like half-way through the PS.

I’ve searched, but haven’t found any information on it.

I’m pretty sure it was in one of the News Blogs where the Devs (Colin, perhaps?) stated that it was not required to finish the Personal Story, Living Story Seasons 1 or 2 to access content in Heart of Thorns. They (he) did state it would be beneficial (story-wise), though.

Do you mean the personal story? I hope not as I consider it done after Ft Trinity … anything in Orr does not fit my idea of ‘fun’ except maybe for the character that I did not bother doing any of the PS with. Not that I am hyped about the new zones: if I had to rank features in the expansion they would come in last. A variation of Silverwastes but with 3 levels rather than 1.

I’m pretty sure it will work the same as Season 2. For season 2 you only need characters that are level 80, those characters don’t need to have completed the personal story to play season 2. Likewise, I think that in order to play the expansion, you only need level 80 characters. They don’t need to have completed the personal story (nor season 2).

I haven’t completed the personal story on any char and I shudder at the thought of doing it 9 times (one for each of my professions) to access the new area. Fortunately though, they said you need a level 80 char only.

To access the story portion of HoT you may need to have finished LS2, but you would still have access to all of the zones and every other bit of content. But for all we know you may be able to access all of it regardless.
