As per the title – Will Magic Find affect the drop rate of the Beta Portals?

I believe it will. Magic Find per definition increases chance to receive higher-quality loot from slain foes.

It depends on how it actually drops. If it’s found like any other drop, magic find will probably affect it. If it’s a special drop however, like something that randomly appears in the world after killing something, then probably not.

According to the patch notes, events can also drop them. Magic find won’t count here, but events will likely have the highest base drop rate.

They haven’t said if the ‘portals’ are in a loot table affected by MF. It can’t hurt to stack MF while in Maguuma Wastes, since there are tons of foes and plenty of loot to be had.

After a full round of SW, with people topping up on MF food and MF bonfires, no one got one. I joined the last 15 minutes of a Dry Top Tier V, and the most I’ve seen in map chat is one person saying “someone in my guild got it.”

With the number of people playing this game they need to give it a small drop chance; otherwise the beta would get flooded. The beta’s probably reasonably sized, but actually getting is going to be a low chance

After an hour and a half and only seeing one person in my map get a portal, I figure it’s a waste of time. I am done grinding out the maguma wastes for the time being.

Or they may adjust to the drop rate later to bump their numbers. Seriously, how many hours has this been available before people are saying it’s hopeless. There is probably a large subset of people who haven’t even had a chance yet because they’ve been at work.

Don’t waste your time with MF, I farmed for 10 hours straight today with 547%MF and for all that time the only rare drop I ever got was a mini mordrem worth 1g99s and 1 carapace coat box.

I swear it’s feels like someone at a.net flagged my account to never get anything worth a kitten !

You realize that most of drops in SW are not affected by MF at all (since most mobs don’t drop anything directly), and bandit boxes are affected only by the MF from perseverance buff?
