expension costs 50$ im playing since 1st day until today, 50$ for almost 3 years.
best deal ever.
i dont need anything extra on the 100$ one. but im supporting those kittens and i love every single aspect of HOT.

this isnt cheap for me,
but you have it for lifetime! and so many features, wen was the last time u bought something for 50$ and u had 3 years of enjoyment with it the extra 50$ so they will make another expension XD(im up for that)

which does kinda confirm the expansion will be small as in the amount of new maps.

With your logic, every buy to play game is worth it.

It was more a comment on how the guy I was quoting seemed to think the xpac only consisted of the assumed 3 new maps.

In terms of known maps, I thought only Verdant Brink was known of?

People forget that they aren’t buying a product – they are buying a service and an experience. When I spent $60 three years ago, I also bought 3 years of unlimited server time.

If you were to value that server time at the cost of a typical MMO’s monthly subscription, I’ve gotten $540 dollars worth of access to the game, opportunity to play with other people in the game, and all of the content updates that happened in that time. And I will continue to compile that value in the basic game from now until they stop offering the service.

That’s $540 worth of value that someone buying the game with HoT will never get. They can’t play the Lost Shores event. They can’t attack the Marionette. They can’t raid the Tower of Nightmares. They can’t vote for Ellen Kiel. They can’t fight for Lion’s Arch. They can’t help take down Scarlett. They can’t play Super Adventure Box.

Sure, a lot of that content might come back. Or it might not. And even if it does come back, it will something different. And they wont’ have my experiences.

Last time was a button down I bought for my girlfriend. To this day when she wears it she provides a a valuable, exciting, and pleasurable experience. ANet has decided to provide the same service for the same price… just no value, excitement, or pleasure.

It’s never about how many, Anet could make 20 Lonar’s pass size empty maps or split verdent brink into 3 maps. It’s about quality.

I know I’m buying service and experience.
my experience of late has been… Underwhelming… Due to poor service. I and many others have lodged complaints, no response in 5 days. This is BAD service.

Don’t compare the value of this game to others as a means of justification. I don’t think other games (subs) are fair to consumers, so I don’t buy their products.

Just because other people feel it’s fair for other companies to take advantage of them doesn’t mean it’s fair for this company to take advantage of this community.

The amazing service and experience I’ve received from arenanet in the past has caused me to hold them to higher expectations. They are no longer living up to these expectations, they are lowering my expectations regularly of late. What others do I will not compare them to as they do not provide a similar enough product or payment structure at this time. I am very loyal to this brand, and would appreciate if this brand was loyal to me.

No, you got it wrong. No one knows the exact number of maps. Each map will feature 3 biomes. There’s going to be a minimum of two maps, possibly more.

I just stated what i would worthy of being called an expansion in terms of pve maps. Also it’ll definitely be more then 2 maps. Can you imagine following scenario?

Verdant Brink – pact refugees muster what they can after their crushing defeat to survive mordrem onslaught during the night.

Next map – heavily battered, barely surviving, remnants of the pact move in to 2nd map to kill modremoth!

A-net would be laughing stock for months if not years to come!
“Where’s the final boss?…On the 2nd map!”
“How do you beat a dragon? Survive a night, then jump the fence!”
“What do you call 2 three leveled maps? An expansion!
“Did you hear the one about the guy who took 6 hours to complete xpac? After 4 hours on the toilet he started playing!”

I often joke about these 3 maps x 3 biomes which would be about = to 4 and a half GW 2 maps, I also refer to it as a pay to play living story 3. What scares me the most is that I may be right. I guess we’ll find out by August 28th or so.
Either way that counts me out until the price is lower than $30.

Heart of Thonres is 50$ end of story, and also, there is no RUSH! it will come out in about 4 month (random number tho i think it will be 4ish) im not rich but i can work 2 days for this price…….MONEY COMES AND GOES!

I’m sorry where did you see it was 3 zones. Because I’ve not seen that number yet.

like Silverwastes but alot more advance

We’ve yet to confirm the size of these layers. Can be for example, that root biome will have just few small holes and passages, while the middle biome will be a huge map we’re used to.
