Time is a river.
The door is ajar.
Will the new Defiance system scale depending on the amount of players at the fight?
Note: I’m fully aware that these numbers may or may not be the actual numbers. They’re just there to provide context to the example.
For example, let’s say that the Defiance bar of the Wyvern has a value of 20 when there are 5 people at the fight.
Will the Defiance bar’s value or regen rate raise as more players join the fight – helping to keep a certain level of difficulty – or will it keep at a constant regardless of how many players join the fight – potentially making triggering the Defiance mechanic a lot easier?
It scales – e.g. more players = more CC’s needed when the bar goes up.
Which means its easier to play this stuff with less people in open world than more.
Ironic isnt it?
— This is why people want instanced content. As more players = more idiots (or less educated people) = failure to work the defiance CC bar properly.

I see it differently if it’s punishing enough and offers good rewards they won’t bother coming and will have to learn. The game is too casual it’s already starting to ruin PvP PvE is next, they better figure how to make them learn.
I see this game as casual game if it’s to hard ppl will not do it or quit the game -or just die and not wp-
they can’t even do the wurm fight right and one of them is just run around in a circle !!
As much as pll want raids like everquest in this game . the community is just not made for it 2 years or being casual game play pretty much set the game in easy mode any thing harder and wont be played wurm fight dungeons myst – granted the last 2 is more of the wannabe hardcore community that chases ppl away

The problem are the rewards, look at fractals they need to make harder content give better rewards. It will take a while but if they gradually makes easier content less rewarding it should be fine. Not sure if GW1 followed the same steps but it had more expansions than the sequel so hopefully they decide to go that way.

No GW1 did not(At least they didnt make the easier stuff less rewarding over time). The harder content was just more rewarding in general, you could get rarer skins, rarer items(Hero armor) from them! UW(Ecto farm), Urzogs Warren(Some really neat skins) The Deep(Again Really neat skins). Cant speak for Mallyxs dungeon, i just farmed gold and bought what i wanted from there.
I do agree the rewards are the biggest problem with hard content. Look at the new Tequatl, ive done him just about every single day since he was revamped and have not gotten a ascended chest(I just got a mini Tequatl the other day). But yet i talked to someone with the Sunless Greatsword, they got it after their third run. Really?! If harder content didnt rely on RNG so much it would be more worth while, and until they change their RNG system i really hope they dont put anything in thats actually difficult(See Liadra the Dark, i did her over and over again because i wanted that title(Content like her would be awesome, if the rewards where proper)).

Was it said in one of the interviews or Points of Interest? Must have missed it.
I was playing the beta – it scaled.
So basically the more clueless indivudals the harder it was to ensure the boss was cc’dd during the new defiant bar (on Wyvern). You need more cc’s when there were more people.
You actually had a better chance to fight it with fewer people (<5) and cc correctly where they knew what a cc was and when to apply it.

Ahh ok. Thanks for the answer
