Will the new content be too difficult solo?

Just watched the PAX thing. Late I know. I heard “more challenging” content would be there. Now, I’m a pretty rubbish gamer so do you think the HOT stuff is going alienate those of us that aren’t the most responsive/battle hardened/l33t?
Sorry if this has already been discussed – looked but didn’t come across it.

They’ll find a way that a few inexperienced players won’t mess up the entire instance.
They’re waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to proud of their “Friendly Community” that they won’t add things where other might rage upon (like 1 player killing the entire content)
You’ll be able to do most things with a nice guild, group. and there’s plenty of solo content for you I’d say

Well… Back in the marionette fight it only took a couple people that didn’t know the fight to end up in the wrong place at the wrong time and prevent a win. And it is nearly impossible to win Teq without a taxi to an organized instance.
Those big fights are designed so that all it takes is someone in the zone willing to explain everything to folks that didn’t know it, and for those folks to listen. They’re good fights, well designed (especially Marionette, which needs to make a reappearance someday, somehow).
That having been said, GW2 desperately needs a mechanic whereby zone leaders can get the attention of everyone in the zone. I think some people must sit in their combat log and never see /shout or something- or are staring at the pretty particles. Those are the folks that miss simple fight mechanics and create losses. It’ll be worse in the new content.
I’d like to see either the commander or some alternate mechanism expanded to better lead massive open-world PvE content.
And don’t say, “mumble/teamspeak”. That’s missing the point. In order to make it pug/casual friendly there needs to be a way for experienced commanders to communicate raidlike instructions. It’s not about how a group should communicate ideally, but what tools a leader should have to bring together a group that isn’t communicating.

You wont be able to solo open world PvE Maguuma for the first month OP. Everyone and their mothers will be there.

People who say GW2 is too easy or casual don’t know what they’re talking about. A lot of the content is crazy stupid hard.

Everyone has a different definition of what is hard. For the average player, most stuff in GW2 is relatively easy while still being engaging. There are a few things that are harder than normal, but I’m talking about Triple Trouble and Arah and things like that which are meant to be a challenge for the people who like that. That type of content doesn’t represent the whole of the game.
HoT will follow the same formula as the rest of the game in regards to difficulty. By that I mean there will be plenty of content for Average Joe to enjoy, and there will be a few hardcore bosses or whatever for the hardcore players at the end of the bell curve. No one is forcing Average Joe to fight a hardcore boss. These things are entirely optional.
I come from the future to say that it will be too difficult to solo, there are no polearms and revenants are OP, also the seahawks won the superbowl.

Don’t worry. You know it, they know it and I know it. You suck.
The game will be brutal, will chew you out and spit your massacred carcass to the nearest way point.
Then either you’ll run for dear life, or pick yourself up, accept the challenge and fight tooth and claw for your revenge!

I’m going to disagree with you here and say that Average Joe shouldn’t expect to waltz through the Maguuma jungle. I don’t honestly expect to be able to solo very much of the content myself(and other than dungeons[which I don’t necessarily partake in] and some group events) I prefer to solo everything, including Champs if I can…not expecting that from HoT at all, even with the lean towards it being a casual friendly game.

What’s the problem with open world, all new maps will be full for the next months or so.
Thanks to megaservers, finally, there shouldn’t be a single event that you have to do solo.
I haven’t heard much about dungeons – are there even new ones? As far as I know, no. So that is another content less that you could fail at.

Go to silverwastes, at a breach, in indigo and BLOW ALL THE BUBBLES, then tell me how 1 player can’t kill the event xD
