Hey all, I wanted to get you opinion. As most know with HoT will come new legendaries, although Anet has yet to give a release date or pictures of the new weapons.

I am not sure I should spent the gold i have now on some cool weapons skins, or keep saving it until i see the new weapons and decide what i want to spend my gold on then.

What would you do?

I don’t think there’s any indication that gold will be required for the new legendaries. The “crafting” system for it seemed to be completely reliant on you doing a lot of stuff, not on spending a lot or throwing random exotics into the Mystic Forge.

I hope they keep the surprise the same way they did at release. It so much better for the people who will be among the firsts to complete one of the new legendary to discover their skin and animation.

We don#t know if they will show the new legendary’s. I think they will not. If I remember correctly, when GW2 released, they didn’t show the legendary’s or the recipes. We jsut had to find out how to make them. Off course the skins where datamined early on.

It depends a lot on how far you are with your legendary and how set you are on your choice. If you always have been set on it then there is no reason to wait. If you always had doubt or switched a few times, it might be good to wait.

Legendaries are not mandatory nor are you forced to be among the first to get one of them. Wait till everyone has it and decide which one you wanna do or stick to the ones you already know.

Legendary is not an ascended weapon which you can grind out in 1 day to craft.

Either way pointless discussion as you lost. New legendaries will show up in wardrobe on HoT launch, most likely they will get datamined before that even happen.

But they are still weapons with ascended stats that you can constantly switch around and you can transmute it to look like whatever you want anyway. If you don’t end up liking the skin, it can always be changed with no detriment to the weapon itself.

Legendary weapons are about the adventure, some adventures have disappointing endings. It’s bound to happen, but every legend has its own story to tell. The legendary weapons were supposed to be a final reward for those players who dedicated their time to experiencing everything the game has to offer. If I got lucky enough to find the precursor and put in the effort for Quip, the Minstrel or even an ugly Legendary like Twilight, I’d be happy with the adventure that sent me and my guildies on gathering slowly the parts required to make such a horrendous goal a reality.

There are plenty of awesome looking weapon skins you could be using, if you just want to buy into internet awesome you don’t deserve a legendary.

Exactly. With all the irons in the fire, I doubt they’ve put much effort into them besides attempt to garner ideas for the precursor scavenger hunts.

I think right before the expansion comes out they’d def do a points of interest or ready up on precursor crafting and new legendaries, since it will be:

1. done by then
2. a great way to build hype
3. a great way to shake up the economy.

But I wouldn’t expect more info until the month before release at the earliest.

There is no greater insult than beating somebody down with unicorns.
