My Guild and I are planning to get together right on the release day of HoT to clear out and unlock our Guild Hall. However, something has come up multiple times while talking about this endeavour: Will we need some masteries, like gliding and mushroom bouncing, in order to clear out our Guild Hall and unlock it?

I’ve gone through the Forum posts ArenaNet posted a while back going over the basic details of Guild Halls, but no where did it say what things are required to completely clear-out the guild hall, except for a group of guild members who can coordinate with each other.

If anyone has any information on whether or not certain masteries like the gliding or mushroom bouncing are necessary for the Guild Halls, that would be a big help.

Well, Seth just posted you need ‘gliding to reach the entrance to the Guild Hall’, but it was a conversation about already being in the Guild Hall, so I don’t know whether he was referring to inside or out.

You do need Favor to initiate the ‘quest’ for attaining the Guild Hall, so you will need to do some Guild Missions first. I don’t think you can attain the Guild Hall on the first day (you need too much Favor).

I don’t think they’ve said for sure, but I doubt they’d make it take more than basic levels of gliding and ’shroom abuse.

Given that we’ll need Favor as well as gold to “buy” the ability/right to claim a hall, and Influence to Favor conversion will be low and time-gated, I think everyone will have time to get those two starting masteries before you’re ready to unlock the hall.

Well, my guild has been saving up influence points ever since we heard about Guild Halls and how you can convert Influence into Favor, so I think we should be good on that front. What I’m worried about is what you said before that, though. Can someone link the post where Seth said this about needing gliding? Or can someone give a more definitive answer about whether or not we need it?

You’re going to need gliding to get to a LOT of things and places in HoT. Why would you not level that up to basic gliding right away?

I think Favor exchange is time-gated, but I’m not sure on the particulars.

In the Guild Hall Guild Chats they talked about how soon a Guild can attain the Guild Halls. You might want to give those a look-see.
