So I was thinking about using the Revenant in the weekend beta and a horrible thought occurred to me… What if after all these years of playing, I finally get a precursor drop?
As I know fate has a rather sick sense of humor I am now highly considering not giving it the chance to drop 4 precur’s on me over the weekend. I presume in the case that I received one I’d loose it when the beta was over
Anyone else concerned that this might be time for irony to rear its ugly head?

I’m not concerned, because the way I see it, the outcome is the same either way: you won’t end up with a precursor you get to keep.
If I know I’m not going to end up with one to keep either way, I may as well have the fun of trying out the new profession instead of giving up the opportunity.
A precursor is off the table whichever you do, so why throw the proverbial baby out with the bathwater?

There’s always the question, if I’d been on a normal character would I have gotten it and been able to keep it?
That’s what is going to bug people who find nice things playing the beta.
Due to this I don’t plan on doing any major content as a Revenant, I’ll mostly be exploring the skillset and picking aesthetics.

Maybe you’d feel better if anet simply disabled the precursors for the beta? Then you’d have to ask yourself if you would have gotten a precursor if you weren’t playing the beta. Then you don’t play the beta and go do something outside and wonder if you would have gotten a precursor if you weren’t outside… then you can’t sleep because you might have gotten a precusor if you weren’t sleeping.
Beta is for testing and you aren’t required to participate in it.
What you get to keep is experience with the new features and the knowledge that your feedback and actions taken on the beta server might help to make the product you have already or intend to invest in better.

Doesn’t really matter. You not getting a precursor drop previously has no bearing on your chances of getting a precursor drop in the beta or the other way around. If you get it you get it otherwise you won’t. Worrying about getting precursor drop in beta when it has no affect on whether or not you actually get one is not useful.

:( not happy lol
This is my worry too… I want to play one to test it, but not being able to keep DROPPED loot is concerning. All forged stuff should be deleted however.
