Your Plans for the BWE?
I don’t really know, honestly.
On one hand, I’m really eager to try out elite specs, but on the other hand it might be kind of nice to experience them for the first time on my normal character and not a beta dummy character. So from that perspective, maybe I just want to focus on Revenant. But on the other other hand, if I don’t play the elite specs then I can’t give any input on them.
not enough time to test everything sadly
Tempest is the only thing not interesting enough. everything else i cant wait to get my hands on and play in all game modes
“Revenant is actual proof that devs read the necromancer forum” – Pelopidas.2140
As I’m assuming the all races being playable applies to Revevnant.
Male Norn Revenant to test out dual sword + weapon swap + shiro legend
Male Human Necromancer to test out greatsword (also make the necro I had originally intended to make, didn’t because Nolan North just doesn’t sound evil lol).
Male Sylvari Guardian to just see what longbow is like (I mean it has to be better than scepter playstyle wise for me I’d hope).
Only my Revenant would be going into Verdant Brink of the characters.
I want to check out the new Map Rewards, and Masteries. Probably play around with some Elite Specializations, as well. New Adventures (if any) and the improved/changed night meta event.
Explore nooks and crannies, as there will be much more time for that this time. =)
I’ll probably be trying out Dragonhunter and Chronomancer to see how they are, and to see if the shield is good enough to replace my mesmer’s offhand pistol. Not really interested in Reaper since I prefer dual daggers’ speed on my Necro, and I don’t even have an Elementalist, so I’m not even going to bother with Tempest. I’ll probably explore what’s open of Verdant Brick too, since I haven’t seen it at all yet.

Yes you will be able to create revs of all races.
I’ll probably try out the Dragonhunter and check out the new map, etc. with it. I also want to try it out on some live content and check out the masteries and map rewards.
Can’t wait
I am most interested in testing out the new map reward system. I will most likely just be playing Rev (to try out new traits and changes from last time) and Reaper.
I don’t care about Tempest (I don’t like ele), but I may try out DH and Chronomancer after I’ve had my fill of reaper and rev.
I’ll be trying the elite specializations for mesmer and guardian…possibly necro if I have time. I also want to get a look at the mastery system and explore the map a bit.
I’m very excited to try Tempest, Dragonhunter and Chronomancer.
I’ll also give the latest iteration of the Revenant a go, to see if it’s any good. If it still hits like a wet noodle, I’m also very tempted to run a Shiro legend with double silly scimitar :p
I have a reaper build I want to test that is high chill based that will allow me to constantly cast from medium range without the enemy getting within melee range. I’m thinking staff and greatsword but might move to greatsword and something like dagger/warhorn or axe/dagger. Depends on what works.
After I test that build, I’m going to try Shiro then dragonhunter. I’m not too wild about Tempest or Chronomancer but I’ll be testing them too. I really want to do some roaming on Revenant though and see what they are really capable of.
I am going to make an Asuran Revenant to check out their animations. Also I am going to try the elite specializations in the old world content. I honestly have no interest in the HOT maps untill launch.
I am eager to test out the Reaper. I really want to see how effective it is. After that, test out the Revenant and new map.
I hope to test the elite specs on the old maps. Basically a calibration run. I’d rather not see the new maps until I’m playing on the Live server/permanent progress.
I kinda wish they’d let us take the beta characters into WvW. That would be chaos (of the mostly good kind).
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

Unfortunately, there’s much to do this weekend with friends etc. But the spare time I got I think I just try out the Tempest first. Then Revenant/Shiro. Hopefully I can check out Verdant Brink a bit, too.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
These beta events always bring dilemmas for me.
on one hand generally I like to play the least interesting aspects for me during beta leaving what I am really interested in for launch. In this case though I think I will thrown that philosophy out of the window and experiment with the reaper which is what I am mostly interested in. Want to also try some adventures, dont know why but I am quite looking forward to them.
Poke all the new class options! And see what the old-world masteries are. Then I might get to the spoilers.

it seems many like them better than the games they comment on.” -Horrorscope.7632
I’m going to be away from home the entire weekend.
So I guess my plan for experiencing the beta will be to read the forums and watch youtube videos.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
I plane to goof around with the new class, by taking it into dungeons and fractals, other than that I would like to keep everything else new for the release.
mess around a little with the new revenant ,then focus on extensive testing of the tempest while i do some armoring hunting in the new zones to see if they allready implemented the tribal armor on the 25% of new released zone (as the armor was featured on the tempest PoI livestream one can get his hopes up)
gonna be theorycrafting pvp/wvw builds for dragonhunter and shiro/something revs
I have a few things planned:
First, try out Shiro in the mists pvp lobby to find a good weapon and legend combo to go with it. I’ll then test run it in some stronghold matches.
Second, try out the dragonhunter and reaper elite specs, again in the mists and pvp matches.
Third, have a quick play about in the mists with the Tempest and Chronomancer, to see how they feel. I am more keen on the draginhunter and reaper, so they will likely get more playtime, but I want to try them all out.
Fourth, after I have decided which of the above I find the most fun, I will take it to the new HoT PvE zone and muck about there for a while.
Lastly, after the BWE, I will jump on the forums to give some feedback on what I tried.
Settle on a design for my rev, either human or Sylvari, or maybe both with an extra slot
Take a look at DragonHunter, despite the worst name in the history of names
Check out Reaper
Explore Verdant Brink
There is absolutely no evidence to support that it would.” -AnthonyOrdon
I’ll test a zerker shiro rev in the new map, and make a human reaper, a sylvari DH and a norn cronomancer to test them, I’m not particularly curious about the tempest.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I will be trying everything.
Well, I’ve got to see how Reaper will change playing Necro in WvW but I still think Berserker with condi duration will be my setup. This will be my first beta so I’m eager to try the Revenant as well. Lastly, playing with the Tempest Elite Specialization is on my list.
focus on Dungeons, Fractals and Raiding.
I want to test the necro specialization.
I totally wanna make a holiday of it. 2 / 3 of my main classes ! I get to play them this weekend! Wheee!!!!!
I’m going to test them. See how they feel. See what they might be lacking or have too much of. I wanna also check out the new map and obtain some map bonuses to see how rewarding it feels. I plan to make a full observation post after the beta.
I think it’s going to be a great weekend. I wish it was here already! >u<
I wasn’t able to be apart of the other betas. But now that I’ve pre-purchased I plan to do as much exploring as I can. I love taking in the new sights.
The Secksy Monk [Guild Wars 1]
Stormbluff Isle – Storm Slayer Dragons [SDS]
Rev for real this time. Until Engi & War drop that’s my concentration.
Crystal Desert
For those who don’t know or haven’t noticed, we have four beta slots for this BWE instead of just one, so we can test out most of the stuff without having to delete characters.
Make a Reaper and play with it to see if I’ll like it or not. Don’t care about the other professions or elite specs, only have a Necro (and a subpar poorly equipped warrior that i rarely ever touch).
I hope to test the elite specs on the old maps. Basically a calibration run. I’d rather not see the new maps until I’m playing on the Live server/permanent progress.
I kinda wish they’d let us take the beta characters into WvW. That would be chaos (of the mostly good kind).
As far as I can determine from the News Blog, beta characters can enter WvW.
Not only will you be able to take your characters to the jungle, you can take them into the existing game world as well! PvE, PvP, or WvW—feel free to try out the new profession or elite specializations on the live game with all your friends and guildies.

Good luck.
I won’t be participating because I haven’t preordered. In fact, I might not play much GW2 during the event either. But I hope everyone who does participate has fun.
Now that I have it, I can hardly wait to test and explore. Once I have finished the storyline and killed the dragon a few time, I’ll put the game down for good. I don’t intend to kill dragons for the next 12 years this game would get too repetitive for me with a 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th dragon. A 6 dragon game are you kidding me? Who thinks up scenarios like that?
The only thing that would make me stay after HOT is a different continent with a different storyline. No it doesn’t have to be Cantha or even Elona, it can be a 4th continent never used before. Come to think of it that would be a breath of fresh air and a very nice way to revive the whole game. We could always come back to dragons later.
My plans hmmmm, doing berm buster trail ride in Taupo New Zealand on the Saturday then my son has Moto cross on the sunday so its going to be very limited to what I can do but I will squeeze in a look hopefully
My Plans for the next days:
Today: Playing GW2/ Witcher 3
6th August: 10-20 o’ clock : Being at Gamescom, going to the Hall where ANet is to see what they show/announce ect. and tryign to get Goodies and tak with Devs yay
Trying to get on one of the Demo PCs to check out HoT Content there for a first preview of what will await me then on the rest of the weekend ^^
7th August: 10-20 o’clock: Being at Gamescom, doing there now for whatever the first day wasn’t long enough to see/get all, talk with Anet Devs more, yay and happily wait for Anets Aftershow Party
8th and 9th August: Intense Beta Testing of HoT Content of all the Elite-Specializations and the Revenant in his nearly complete form now.
As being the reason for why we literally have E-Specs, I feel its my duty to test them out all intensely ^^ Wish only, that all of them would be testable, especialyl the Thief one, but it is how it is, not all yet announced, so its clear that the others will surely follow in an upcoming Beta Weekend 2, once the missing E-Specs have been announced and showed all too. Due to being a Prepurchaser, thats no problem for me, will have access to all the BWEs with that, so if I can test the Thief- E Spec now, or first later with the next BWE plays no role. I’ll do it anyways
gonna test reaper elite spec in PvP.
S/I/F engineer Z/R/D guard
Definitely try out the race (and armor) I want for the Revenant. After that, play around with the elite professions on the other races. Also, put underwater weapons in my bank to see if the Revenant can use any so I’ll know which to craft for him.
ANet may give it to you.
Reaper, DragonHunter, Shiro. Reaper would be top priority.
Chronomancer I’m interested in, but I’m a pretty bad mesmer so I may just wait until other people come up with builds that are relatively easy to play then just copy those.
Test Shiro’s trait line with sword/sword and sword/axe
Test Chronomancer
Test Dragonhunter
Test Reaper
Might test Tempest overload skills, but can’t see myself actually using the warhorn – despite maining ele.
Well… my original plan was to be working 12 hour shifts every day – and being sad about missing the BWE – and then complain about not having time off in weeks…
But now…
I just got out of emergency surgery a few hours ago (LOL… not exactly the means I was hoping for, to get time off…)
I plan to try everything.
The things I’m looking most forward too is the Elite Specs and trying out Shiro on Rev, as I was hoping for Shiro since day one.
I’m also pretty excited about hearing my character speak again – and plan to explore as much of the new zone as we can, to test how immersive it feels.
Oh… and of course PvP… always gotta get my PvP on. <3.

I hope you are feeling top-notch again, soon. At least, there’s a silver lining. =)

I feel pretty horrible, but horrible is MUCH better than what I was feeling when I went in to the hospital. My coworkers and family have been having a good laugh at it.
“Well, you get your days off now.”
I guess this was a case of being careful what I wished for. XD <3

Since nothing I’m interested in will be available this BW I probably will log in long enough to do dailies and maybe farm a bit to support my slowing growing hoard of ascended mats. Maybe I’ll work a bit on my last two Slayer achievements (plants and giants, of course).
Honestly, all I can contribute to a beta is load stress. I play just for fun and don’t bother to learn all the fine detail that Anet needs feedback on. The lack of permanent progression or reward annoys me and I don’t consider learning new skills and strategies particularly “fun”… they are a chore to master to the point where they do become fun (meaning I don’t die every 30 seconds because I don’t know which skill button to use next).
S/W Beta testing was once a job I had to do and it was never fun so my reaction is probably not typical. I just wanted to make the statement that not everyone is excited about the beta.
(edited by Jimson.5168)
I will test every new elite Spec and give feedback in skills and animations.
Going to try all the new specs, especially Tempest to see if my Ele will stay my main.
feedback will be given: the good and the bad.
Had yesterday some time with the Demo at Gamescom, playtested a bit the Necromancer as Reaper… sure not with a specialized good build for it, cause for that wasn’t naturally enough time, but the gameplay alone made fun, the skills are all with the grestword, and especialyl those from Reaper Shoud very fun and naturally nice to look at, especially when you see all the damage numbers flying, when you use them in mists of large enemy groups
I’ll test this out today more intensely when I come back from GC/aftershow party when I can beta test at home, which starts today.
No plans, 9 years with Guild Wars and wasn’t lucky to get access.
And my grilfriend is working whole weekend ARGH.
I know that i could pre-order HoT, but i planning to do it later cuz of another spendings atm.
But enjoy guys, waiting for some streams !
