Anyone else feel like the zones are still empty? I guess it could be i always get put in a super underpopulated instance but that happens all the time. Something like silverwastes is packed, no matter where i go there’s people but trying to get 4 to a side in auric basin or do some events in tangled depths seems nearly impossible. It just feels like there’s no one playing

Not anymore to be honest. The first couple of days after launch felt quite empty but now I see people almost everywhere. I’ve only been to the first two zones so I can’t comment on the other two.

Try to find a commander if you feel alone.

Tangled Depths is not very popular. I expect to see some tweaking to that map.

VB and Dragons Stand have generally good populations. Auric varies depending on time of day. It is a very good meta, but I think trying to fill so many coordinated metas is quite a big ask from Anet and that could be where things are falling down. Esepcially since SW is still going strong for xp/events/gold + matfarming

Use the “look for group” feature to switch to a more populated instance. I have completed the Auric Basin meta event twice today, it’s definitely not deserted. Out of the 4 new maps, Auric Basin and Dragon Stand are the more popular ones; tangled depths is relatively quiet though, I have hardly seen any groups posting LFG for that map, while it’s a beautiful map, its’ layout is way too confusing (nunoch wallows is a necessity on that map).

I guess it’s just me, i keep trying to do the auric basin event and we usually only have 2-4 on a side and fail miserably. Granted we did have some close games yesterday.

I hate Tangled depths too but it seems to grant the most xp, or so i’ve noticed except its usually just me trying to solo an event for an hour.

I’ve not tried dragons stand, went there twice just to look around and it looked real empty but i haven’t tried to do anything there because i didn’t want to ruin the story. I’ll check it out tonight, see if its popular

Never used the looking for group thing, i was always afraid i’d be put in a group in an empty instance which wouldn’t be any better than what i was in. I’ll give it a shot though

Auric Basin

Doing the meta pre for about 30 minutes with about 20 people…“This map will close soon, please volunteer…etc”

I volunteer ofc, start looking at the map to see how the new one is, close the map…“This map will close soon, please volunteer…etc”

I join again a new map, this time gathered 4 comms with about 10-20 players at each and we do the meta pre. Finished 12/12, began taxying people while waiting for the challenges to start, challenges started…“This map will now close, please volunteer…” SAY WUT?

5-10 minutes later I had a client crash and went to bed.

That was my evening yesterday.

It’s not just you. I always get put in dead maps, too. I have yet to even see how Dragon Stand works because every map I load into is empty.

Remember you can always guest to two other servers. Sometimes I’m at a hero point and no one’s around. I log and guest to a full server which means it’s more likely there will be others there. Sometimes they were right in the middle of doing that part of the content.

x100 this, and if your empty map does get going it never has enough time left to get the event done.
