hello guys, im just a new player who is kinda confused about some things.

first of all, is the guildwars 2 hearth of thorns a whole new game? or is it just continuing for the old game?

is it like world of warcraft? where a new expansions comes out, you continue with ur old character, to new raids. and new players have to go through the old expansion first then the new one?

HoT does continue where the story left off in Living Story Season 2. When the expansion comes out, you can take your character (unsure if any thing other then level 80, and getting your self to what I assume will be the Siliverwastes) will be needed to point them towards the new areas. New players starting would be best to go through the game normally or be confused by the story.

so you saying ill have the option to start at HoT, or start from the beginning?

No, there no fast travel option. You have to have a character, there wont be a option to start right in the jungle. Level 80 really not that hard to hit, and such, though also, same say expansion release, Halloween event out too. If your not level 80 yet anyways, focus on that. your bound to earn treats and exp. In fact, I plan to enjoy it, HoT still be there when I am ready.

If you start a new character with HoT you will start in the old maps with a level 1 and all new maps from HoT are level 80. You don’t need to do any content or story of the old games except what you will need to do to get to level 80 and to reach physically the jungle on the map.
