Use your gems to buy a legendary weapon…. Gliding requires a mastery Obtained in HoT maps in Verdant Brink, do what makes you happy, I would suggest leveling a character the old fashioned way before popping the lvl 80 boost so you learn the game first

If you used the level 80 boost on that Ele then put it aside and level another character to 80 without boosts.

Open up your Hero panel. Look at the achievements. Decide if you want to do any of those. Some will give Mastery points you can use at level 80.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

What he or she said above.

Boosts are great but leveling and exploring will only help you learn more. Map chat has not been too toxic to new users so ask around for pointers.

GW2 wiki can offer a lot of information for each map you are in. What’s there, what to do, what to farm just all kinds of good stuffs.

Dungeons as you level will help gear, find stuff to sell and other goodies but mostly now you need a guild that is helpful as pugging seems slow anymore.

Don’t use the gems for legendary unless you REALLY want one.
Most end up using the gems for extra char slots, extra bag slots and extra slots in the bank, infinity tools, etc.
Once you do the first episode for the Heart of Thorns expansion you have gliding unlocked, but it takes a few to even to get to where to do that episode.
I would also do what others have suggested and that is to try to getting a char to lvl 80 the “old fashioned” way.

Most of the advice above is excellent, the only thing I can add is to look for a casual guild to help you along.

On your first playthrough, and I can’t stress it enough
just focus on the Personal Story, then LS2, then HoT, and then LS3
After that (or along the way) you can chase achievements and rewards.
But most importantly, play the story to master your character and understand the world.

As others said, if you instant-boosted your character, then set it aside. You really should level normally at least once to learn your class.

To glide, first you have to unlock masteries by doing the first Heart of Thorns (solo) story quest called Torn from the Sky. It will not be easy on an ele, especially if you do not know the class well. Next, you’ll need a full XP bar earned strictly in HoT maps. Your XP bar will flash at you and might give you a pop-up about training your mastery. Gliding is automatically the first skill trained but after that, you can pick what you want to train next. (I recommend bouncing mushrooms.)

As for what to do next… this a question that often comes up with this game. It will not lead you by the nose. Instead, you must come up with your own goals but you have the absolute freedom to explore the game and do the things that you enjoy doing. Thx u all of the replies. I really appreciate it!
I have questions? What is LS2, LS3, HoT?
I knew i shouldnt have brought boost item but it happened so just be it =)
I personally love this game, so i guess ill play slowly n enjoy the storyline.
For ppl who mentioned buying legendary weap with gems, i dont even get the 4k gems yet so yeah.. just focusing on bags, char slot etc. Im not a kind of player who like to buy end game weap/gear by using gem. I like grinding instead (dungeon n such).
Anyways, more info s n advices are welcome.

LS2 = Living Story 2
LS3 = Living Story 3
HoT = Heart of Thorns

LS2 is Living Story 2, and to run through it, you would have to use gems to pick it up. It is recommended as it better prepares you for what will follow, but it is not necessary. LS3 is Living Story 3 and because it has been out for a while, that too will need to be purchased off the gemstore, as you will have the last episode coming to you in the next few months. HoT is Heart of Thorns storyline, and to begin the process of unlocking masteries, you will need to play through episode 1 of it. HoT storyline, should come with the purchase you already have.

dont use your gems to buy a legendary weapon you are depriving yourself of content and long term goals. Buy Quality of life kit like storage expansions, unlimited crafting tools, shared slots and a nice wee copper fed salvaging machine.

As suggested, set aside your boosted 80 character and enjoy the game as it was meant to be played, and level/explore the world and story. Bear in mind there’s no race at end game, you don’t fall behind so you can take your time.

Like the above said there’s a lot of great advice here but one of the best things you can do is find a casual guild to help you along. This will hopefully give you other more experienced players who can answer your questions and help guide you through the early stages of the game. Once you become more familiar with it you might also enjoy expanding out to do other content like fractals/raids, pvp, or WvW and your guildies can help point you in the right direction. =)

Maybe not in game tutorial for everything but again : https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_Page

That doesn’t suffice when you are new to the game and don’t understand basic stuff like skill facts (“combo finisher”, the fact that “allies” includes yourself, etc.), how leveling a skill/trait circle equally adds skills and traits to your character and what those do, and so on. It is all very confusing at the beginning. (Also, many of the images and description in the Wiki regarding the Hero Panel are out-dated.)

Then there is crafting that is extremely hard to grasp without explanation (and there is none in-game).

And these are only two of the many aspects that you need to understand in this game.

Open “Contacts and LFG” > Looking for Group > World Bosses and join a World bosses tour/train group for some time. This is quite a fun and epic experience for new players and it quite rewarding as well with achievement points and drops.

indeed, rotation skills are confusing for me, but i somehow enjoy it since i play mage/spell in most online games ive played.
still need to know how to use spells (elements) properly. how to initiate combo blast/finisher etc.. i just learning from youtube most of times eventho many of videos aren’t up to date. tbh i really like the mechanism of ele class; complicated but satisfying for me. if u have good combos for ele, please share your experience
thanks

i play mags exclusively and have done for 20 years so im with you GW2 is a little different from other mmorpg in that its not about rotations (well its seeped in a bit with raiding but that’s a tiny part of the game) its about smoothly flexing between your spells and combo fields to react to the fight in front of you – its really satisfying because you will use all of your spells. Best advice i can give is to not be tempted to pick a ‘meta’ build, instead just constantly tweak your builds, weapons, sigils, food/util buffs as you go and look for synergies, again its a lot more fun and satisfying, and you end up with a greater depth of knowledge and more fun playing.

I was using the wiki more as a starting point. If one cannot get in-game help from others of his or her class there are other ways outside the game.

Learning rotation or finishers isn’t always easy but understanding what each skill does one can usually grasp not to use skill “A” that hits high but only after enemy is below 50% health versus skill “B” which will always hit for a certain amount unless it crits. Save “A” until needed if at all possible. Tooltips are important and often ignored.
