Guild Wars 2

1) I want to be surprised.

2) I need to level my latest character.

3) If I get a REALLY good drop I would not be able to keep it.

I realize the reason for (3) but things are not getting a thorough test as they would when played. Sure, I have seen a Ventari tablet at a big event but that is the exception rather than the rule.

I only joined the beta for 15 minutes just to walk around and get a general feel of how good the performance is (which I’m satisfied with..for the most part). Just like your first point I want to be surprised by the new locations as much as possible and I certainly don’t want to be spoiled in regards of story.

Not playing either, just tried out chrono on the first BWE for an hour since I main mesmer and that’s it.

I can experience revenant when I level it and the rest of the content when HoT releases.

I’m with you, I only create a beta toon to get a feel and the erase. I want all story related nonsense to be fresh when HoT drops.

I was just to eager for new content lol The rest of. Y guild have managed to resist…which makes it hard trying to talk about it and avoid spoiling it for them

I did a little of the first beta in VB, but for most of the time I was betaing I was out in the open world playing with the new mechanics.

Tried every elite spec in pvp (love the reaper here) and some dungeons. I avoided Maguuma for the same reason as people above: I want to be surprised.

I just pre-purchased yesterday which means I could do beta weekends stuff, but I learned from doing the beta weekend events for the original game launch that it wasn’t really for me. It takes alot away from the game for me knowing that everything I do will be erased eventually. Additionally I’m not a fan of testing unfinished specs. We can’t see forge or druid which, if I were to beta, I would want to test them all out at once. And if the specs they do have are under powered it won’t be much fun using them, but if they’re over powered I could be spoiled for the inevitable nerf before release. So I’m at the very least skipping betas until all the specs are in there.

I haven’t pre-purchased even though I intend to get the expansion because I don’t have a good enough reason to give Anet my money now rather than later. When I pre-purchased GW2, I barely played during the BWEs. I’ll probably get it for BWE3 just to test a few things out so I have a better idea on what to do when the expansion officially releases.

As a pvper, I am now avoiding queuing up because of all the beta characters. Really wish beta characters were only in unranked so I could play ranked as normal.

As with OP, I haven’t played the beta (much). Previous beta, I created a revenant, and a necro. Just to see what those extra trait lines were about. Wasn’t impressed by them, so I went to see that new map. After dieing in 5 minutes, I decided to give up and returned to my normal gameplay. I’ll see about HoT somewhere in November… (won’t be there when it comes out)

I’ve mainly stopped just because I got bored… The only other thing in it I’d have much interest in trying is the advanced gliding stuff, but I can’t force myself to grind through all of that…

iam with the first poster in this and i got the same reasons too . but i will say what little bit i did play of it . was good and i can not wait for it to come out next month and be able to play it fully and see all the new stuff for the first time. in the mean time iam going to work on getting gem,s and other stuff for then it comes out

I wanted to try out the engi elite… so I haven’t bothered with the beta yet.

Tested out Herald, Berserker, and Daredevil.

Threw up in my mouth a little at Verdant Brink’s sloppy design.

I think I read the forums more than I actually hit the playtest.
