The gem store has nothing pay to play about it. Pay for convenience most definitely. The game will never go pay to play. Its a selling point of the game to be free to play. If that changes, then everyone who’s bough the game before that change should never have to pay to play. But as I said it would never happen, false advertising is a big deal. They would lose millions as players take them to cort demanding a refund of every penny they ever spent on the game. It would kill the game.in a heartbeat.
true on them point,s but yet if you want to get the bl salvage kit and the mystic stones to make the 250 salvage kit,s . that costs gold and gems, both . needless to say if you got to farm that stuff instead of using real world money . to make thing,s work it takes time then . now if they was to change it and just come out with 250 salvage kit,s and say charge 15silver for them . they would be loosing out on the buying of gems, and gold and so forth and so on .
You don’t necessarily have to buy them, they can come from your Log-in reward, though it’s rare, it is possible on the day you get the Black Lion drop, at least for the BL Salvage kits, the Mystic Stones, well, I’ll let you think about that for a minute…

the gemstore itself doesn’t have anything pay2win… but it does have the ability for you to simple buy gold which means you can buy whatever you want from TP…even legendaries..

Pay-to-play is meant a lot more literally than that. It actually refers to subscription games where you have to pay a fixed amount per month simply to log in to the game, and you don’t get anything in return for it except access to the game you’ve already bought.
When GW2 starts telling you to buy $10 of gems a month simply to get past the launcher, and then those gems are removed from your account when you log in so you can’t spend them on items , then the gem store will be pay-to-play.

Challenging group content: I hope for Fractal rework with new fractals announced and new dungeons. Fractals would qualify for the “core game” content.
they already announced a bunch of fractal changes, and said that the fractals weren’t the challenging group content (they did say that fractals were the end-game 5-person bit)
I bet there will be other announced stuff too. I wouldnt be surprised if that included a release date, though I wouldn’t bet on it.
Yes. What this thread is talking about though is that it was stated in the blog post (on the gw2 front page) about Pax the challenging group content reveal is in addition to other big announcements to be made. Thus the speculation.

thats nice but i do not need a second to think on this . far as the bl drop goes i gotten only one stone and no kit,s out of it so far. so still need to buy them to get the kit,s .

we can get right back on track too. like this . what ever they got to say on this. i do hope they talk about a few new fixes and updates or something like that. and say they was only teasing about the challenging group content

Not gonna lie, the thought did cross my mind. XD
Moving to Pay to Play would be hilarious since they’d be the only company to do that. So many other mmo’s have become free to play from that model aside from FFXIV and WoW.
Regular expansion releases (once a year, 2 years) would be encouraging.
IF they do the whole abbadon thing it’s just going to be another expansion and it’s going to be way, way down the road (i see them doing one dragon per expansion).
Mostly i hope to god the announcements aren’t going to be any useless features like a card game or a farmville simulator or any of the long list of stupid time wasting kitten that devs seem to like putting into their games these days to distract from developing the actual game because it’s cheaper to make a new pokimon or create a new plant than actually work on the game.
It’d be totally fine with then announcing their plan for end game content (which could be multiple announcements anyway) and then a spec, and one on the new legendarys. As far as the future of the game, they’re probably just clarifying from this point that they’ll be releasing more expansion and perhaps even giving a rough time table, but that seemed rather obvious to me as soon as they announced HoT. One does not simply release a singular expansion.
I see it going like this
1-vanilla
2-HoT
3-Under water dragon(eew)
4- Destroyer dragon
5- Something to do with the flame legion homeland
6- Abbadon or some other similar entity that’s achieved beyond godlike status
7- Race war?
8- Someone trying to retrieve/recreate the powers of the god(s)
9- someone trying to resurrect the titans
10- A resurgance of magic in the world has caused new beings with the capacity to ascend to godhood, or prehaps take a different path. We’ll find out who the new gods are and what their roles are in gw3, which takes place in another 30 or so years from that point, where the new gods have decided to be highly active in relation to tyria.
