so is the bladed chest from a tier 4[everything done] in the brink by pure RNG or is there another method.i just recently hit a tier 4 and though i now know i was dumb for assuming this i thought that the chest piece would have been a nontenured first time like how vine wrath is with there chest and now i don’t even know if that is the correct method,if possible i would appreciate any confirmation on its method of acquisition because after trying to complete the light armor of that for the past few days most of that only missing one piece it is highly discouraging.
Edit:after checking around seems like there is a bunch of conflicting answers,but genuinely assumed to be the map completion……though with out anyone actually getting that piece i remain skeptical.

You do realize it will take some time before the next new armors are released, so a-net have to make sure not everyone gets it immediately!
The problem is that, in those few days, players have collectively put in millions of hours of playtime in just that map, and if the item is an RNG based drop, then for any individual person, it will take them millions of hours to get it.
That’s actually what leads me to think it’s not an RNG drop, and it’s unobtainable due to some mistake, or it’s a drop from one of the bosses that no one ever does.

I think eventually you can get the chest from pvp, it’s not worth farming an event for because you’ll never get a smart enough map to finish all events. It must be an extremely low drop rate, rare than a precursor. Anet really should have thought things through with this set, I gave up on trying to find a decent map willing to bare with me on events, but all they care about are the champions- they let events fail thus, only ever only just reaching tier 3.
I’ve figured your participation doesn’t affect whether or not you get a bladed chest box, if it did then guess what? We’d have it by now.
My map was able to achieve tier 4. Which was enough to give us a bladed chest box. I have 200% participation. When nightfall. . .
I didn’t get the box. They didn’t give me the box at all. It was unfortunate.
Noone has gotten it yet. Not to my knowledge – and if so it’s so low of a chance it’s stupid- why make the other pieces accessible through NPC vendor and the chest almost impossible to get? I’ve been in 5 tier 4 maps, 200% completion and still the same crappy rewards and no chest. Makes the grind and time feel like we’re all sitting waiting just for greens and blues with less than 10% or whatever the chance is because it’s obviously a low chance of getting it. It needs to be 50/50 with 200% participation. It doesn’t matter if everyone has it – but I feel like this is a tunnel with no end of farming events and 0 chance of a great reward.

Not really bad! Its just kinda annoying doing all that work to get it to tier 4, with all the broken events and bugs that prevent them from working period to not get anything worth note when you finally do manage to get to tier 4 ^^
It takes alot of coordination and hard work to get it to tier 4, it would be nice to get something worth that work at least guaranteed the very first time it happens, after that leave it up to RNG, but the first time much like with silverwastes you should get a chest piece.
The pvp community reminds me of what Obi-kittenenobi describes Mos Eisley as from star wars.
I’ll never understand why chests are put in RNG and everything is vendored.
I also don’t understand why PvP players only wear gloves, That’s pretty dangerous!
Seriously though i would have prefered the whole set be RNG with a semi-decent droprate or all be vendered. Putting the chest as RNG with every armor set is really annoying.
We should really have an achievement which awards it, much like leystone plate.

Anet, please make bladed armor chest a higher drop. Show that 200% participation does get rewarded! :‘D blues & greens aren’t much of a reward since that’s what you get literally from everything.
Has anyone unlocked the mastery for itzel leadership? If so, there is an itzel bladedancer vendor in Jaka Itzel that requires you to have it (~SW on top of a mountain). Can someone check what he sells?
Even if the Itzel Champion vendor doesn’t sell it, I think that would be a good compromise to give players another avenue of acquiring the Chestpiece. Having an item you need to complete a collection be trapped behind RNG is NOT a good way to keep your players happy. Unless the odds are very good (and even if it is), there will always be outliers who try dozens of time, spend all their effort organising maps and getting them to T4, only to get nothing.
There is a HUGE amount of stuff that requires Airship Parts, including crafting recipes, decorations, Bladed armor boxes, collections for the various Legendary and Elite Spec skins, that it will keep players coming back to VB for years to come. Allowing players to purchase the Bladed Chest box from the Itzel Champion rewards them for spending enough time and activity in the game to unlock the Mastery, and for taking the time to go out of their way to engage in different content. (I have a guildie who has Itzel Champion Mastery unlocked. So far he tells me he’s thoroughly unimpressed with the rewards so far. “Your standard two blues and a green”, he says.)
