on the wiki it doesnt show marauders either. Can we get marauders instead of berserker + Valks?

Maybe they’ll be coming later in LS3? Would be a bit lame to give us everything at once, plus would make the new map we just got get stale faster.

As Bellatrixa said, I’d assume they’ll be coming at a later time, and the devs even hinted as such during the AMA yesterday. They chose those particular items because they felt like they were the ones “most lacking” at the moment.

I’m actually surprised they gave 3 of the 4 accessories right off the bat, honestly. I would have expected one per LS update.

They are unique, though, which means you’d still need to get a second ring out of somewhere.

Would be a bit lame to give us everything at once

Maybe, but then locking out said stats behind raids is a problem so big they really shouldn’t wait with introducing any solutions to it. In fact, it should have been fixed long ago.

So far, their “solution” doesn’t help much at all.

I do wonder if part of their logic of introducing the Legendary unbound Guardian in the new map was a way for people who wouldn’t normally raid to experience raid mechanics in a setting that’s not as high pressure as a raid. That way people can learn the basic mechanics and realise that they do actually stand a chance at least at clearing Vale Guardian. In turn this would mean more people trying raids, hopefully progressing to Trio in SP where they can get the accessories if they want them before they add them to LS3 rewards.

Just a theory and I do agree that the current solution is only a part solution. However as Ramoth said, I guess 2 months isn’t such a long wait when we’ve gone for an alternative for raid accessories for so long already. I’m fortunate as a Condi Reaper that I can run Sinister mixed in with Vipers, sucks for those who aren’t as lucky :/ At least they’ve acknowledged the missing stat spreads from the new ring/amulet/backpack and will be adding those into the selection soon.

If that was their intention, it backfired, as after the first day i have yet to see a map that is even interested in spawning him, much less fighting him. If it’s going to make average players realize something, it would be that this boss is definitely beyond their reach.

I’d say it’s the opposite – the situation should have never happened in the first place, so delaying it by another 2 months after we’ve already waited a year is a kitten move.

So I’m seeing it’s coming in another chapter. I guess that’s /thread?

The thing with the VG spawn – I’ve not figured out whats required to spawn it yet, but it seems like a decent event chain, with lots of champ jade armours.. I expect as people figure out the map they will rip through the big events. It just takes time for people to figure how easy it is.

The salvageable items for lower level mats is certainly an interesting thing, given how valuable those can be. Hopefully its enough financial incentive to keep the map populated for a while.

Huh, weird I find it the other way around. First day there’s rarely a spawn of the Guardian. Yesterday every chain of Jade Constructs lead to the Guardian (and killed it easily). I suspect it’s because people now know what they’re doing, and more importantly, know that the JC – Guardian event is a chain, and is a good source of Blood Ruby (+ achievement). This results in people dropping anything else they’re doing when someone calls the event on Map chat and comes rushing in.

The whole time I dont see anyone saying he’s hard or out of reach, just that it’s too easy. Anyway, it seems like you have to kill all 5/6 JC in a row before the Guardian spawns.

Oh, i know, and everyone on map seems to also know how to spawn him. It’s just any attempt to make people kill jade armor results in people calling out that it’s too much a bother and will likely fail anyway. Since the first day i haven’t seen this chain progress for more than 2 succesful jade events in a row. Usually it fails on first.
That the scaling on jades seems a bit off doesn’t help either.

Hmm… weird. On the maps i’m in yesterday, there’s no trouble at all killing those, except for the first Jade Bow, which is very close due to the majority of the people not coming in yet. The next Bows and armors die fast though.

Hm, I can’t say I’ve had the same problem so I guess I’ve been lucky with maps. First time I fought the Guardian was pretty much straight after the patch dropped. There was a new build, then we spawned him again in the map I was in. Next day I went to the map to mop up journal pages and saw the spawn being called in map chat. I think it’s luck at the moment as to whether you have enough people to do the pre events to spawn him but once things shake down in the map, he’ll be spawning more frequently. As others said, he’s a valuable source of Blood Rubies as well as the pre events so I’m sure people will soon be aware that the event’s worth their time.

I’m pretty sure as others have said that they went for the ring/amulet/backpack as they were the most desired/lacking so far so I’ll agree to disagree on the wait on accessories. I agree that the situation shouldn’t have happened to begin with though. I’d rather they’d have added the trinkets et al to map vendors for map currency with the raid as an optional way of obtaining them, not the sole way. Or made Jeweller 500 a thing finally kitten .

What? That’s just not true. Some people in our guild went so far as to constantly jump maps after the meta is done to farm blood rubies and they were able to jump maps 10+ times in a row, that was around midnight too. lol
There’s enough people doing that event and it’s easy, not sure what maps you are on or if you’re NA or EU.

Dungeons and high tier fractals teach you more about VG than the Unbound Guardian. Unbound can literally be done by standing on a rock, pressing one and reading newspaper. Pretty much the only mechanic it keeps is seekers (which people have the annoying tendency to knock into other people, therefore the afforementioned rock), which is an alien mechanic to most. I laughed myself silly when someone called to pull the seekers together so we could all cleave them properly.

Other than that? Green circles do nothing sans the Enrage boon (which, thanks to the scaling, doesn’t really make any difference), blue fields don’t teleport you, there’s no split, no boonremoval or condidamage only, no instakilly ground to stand upon… no. Despite wearing the same skin, this boss isn’t anything like the Vale Guardian any more than Justicar Hablion is Gorseval.
