can we expect just expansion pack ?
You’re only buying the game once. The core game is a free bonus for new accounts/players. After this expansion you will see the Living Story seasons resume leading up to the next expansion.
There will never be just an expansion pack. At any point anyone buys any of the titles, they get access to all the current content made before that point.
So if you wait like ten years, you’ll get them all free. I’ll be here playing. lol
like all items and all gold will stay with expansion pack,I no need worries to loss them

No need to worry. If you already own the game it will just get upgraded. Basically what Kitsune said. (My post may not have been very clear.)

We want to be clear about our business model for future expansions now that we are approaching our first paid expansion for Guild Wars 2. We believe that to keep the game dynamic and vibrant with a constantly growing community, it should be as easy as possible for new players to get into Guild Wars 2. For Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns, we didn’t want the core game’s price to be a factor in a new player’s decision to begin playing Guild Wars 2. In the future, if we release further Guild Wars 2 expansions, we plan to offer all of the prior expansions, the core game, and the latest expansion for one single purchase price.

So no, the business model is to never sell expansions as ‘upgrades’, they will always include core game and every prior expansion in a bundle.
There’s no loss – it’s not like it’s ‘Guild Wars 3’. You’ll get some new maps to explore, a new character class (revenant) and some other stuff, but nothing you have right now will go away. It’s like any other major game update (like when silverwastes or dry top were added) except it’ll be larger, and this time you need to pay to get the new stuff added.

funny think players which already have guild wars 2 for very long time,or preodered, thyey have to pay same price for small thing, like he is buy new game,or even guild wars 3,I do understand they no want put to big price for new prayers and i very respect Arenane for thing like this, but I also think just for upgrade they could make smaller price, or follow like others company do make premium accouts, just for expansion packs
ok i figured out a solution – vets get expansion for 45 dollars plus character slot,, and new players have to pay 55 bucks. – this whole fiasco is their fault for not having bought guildwars years ago….so it’s only right – they still get core game for only 5 bucks which isn’t a bad deal but they have to accept some responsibility for disrupting our peace loving community, this use to be the friendliest most supportive game on the net before they got here!
oh, and the price hasn’t changed, it’s still 50….but vets pay 5 dollars less, new players pay 5 dollars more. so it’s only a 5 dollar difference, not 10 ^.^
i’m sure someone would qualify for the 50 dollar price though, just haven’t figured out who yet.

Go buy a pot on the TV-shop. If you order now, you will get 4 pots more as a free bonus!

I do hope you are trying to be amusing with this post. /smh
i’m just reflecting what i’m reading on the forums and trying to find a middle ground that would confuse everyone equally. I’m personally rallying for more intelligent pvp so hardcore pvp’rs don’t have to fight like twits in gw2, but everything is not about just me. we the people have spoken.
