concern: trait sys and Specializations weps

I have a concern regarding specialization and the new trait system.
specializing grants access to new weapons for your class to use, but as the Elite Specializations system is explained, you are not forced to use that weapon.
well with the new limitation on the way traits work now, its likely that weapon oriented traits will be in the elite specialization path. But if i want to play with elite specializations without using the new special weapon linked to it in the traits, i will have one less choice in that path. That would mean 2 choices instead of 3, since the weapon improvement trait wouldnt be useful to me if i dont use that weapon.
Whats the solution to this?

Same as it is for every other tree with weapon-specific traits and also other stuff.
Use it if you want the other stuff, and if you don’t want the other stuff, then use a different spec line.
Yea if you dont want the weapon trait use the other one or dont use the line at all…. its like saying well I dont use axe on my warrior and dont want berserkers power what else you got for me anet

Even more so when stats wont be tied to trait lines you go for the traits you want not what line they are in.

And what else would they have?
I mean considering map icons/harvesting/skill point challenges etc was to confusing to new players I dont see them adding a new system with traits for core lines and something else for elites that would def be to much for our newbies.
it can be focused on new skills, on changed class mechanic or just on overall class things just like other trait lines… but as already said, if you don’t want to use it, you don’t have a reason to pick new line

What I mean is, perhaps the new specialisation weapons wont have a reduced cooldown trait in the line, and will just have lower cooldowns than they would give with the option to reduce them.
