wondered if I can level anything on my character or any advantage to buying hot for wvw running taking keeps and so forth

if you’re thinking of buying HoT for WvW, you might want to think twice. WvW is pretty much dead because of the “features” from HoT. Check out the WvW forum if you don’t believe it.

For WvW buying HoT gives you access to 1 new class (Revenant) and all the elite specs. Lots of new equipment and Guild Hall upgrades also require grinding in HoT maps.
