I’m not sure if I will or will not get HoT free, I bought the game when it was released (2012).

Yes you bought game at release and play for 3 year with no extra cost or subscribe. Now if you want expansion have to pay for it. Arena net is not charity and people that work there do not work free.

At least he actually came and honestly asked, unlike a good percent of people who just complained and said they thought they deserved it for free. But yah everyone’s gotta pay for the expansion, hope to see yah in HOT ;3

I’m a veteran player, and because of that, I LIKE supporting Anet. For my $200 (collectors edition in Australia), I played this game for thousands of hours. $50 is nothing to play new content in this game for me.

Well, considering $50 bucks is a drop in the bucket compared to the amount I have spent on opening black lion chests. Not a big deal as far as I am concerned.

A note that you do get a free new character slot with HoT if you started before January, though. (Unless that has been changed?)

Knight, there is no requirement to get HoT. You can continue to play the game without it. (no elite specs, no revenant, no new maps, etc). But all old content is still there for you.

Started before January 23 AND also only if you pre-purchase(not the same as pre-order AFAIK) before HoT release. The extra slot is also not applied immediately, that gets processed on Fridays.

Sorry did not mean to be rude at you. I first thought you expect to get HoT for free because you veteran player. I misunderstand that. There are many that have said that in past on forum. My apology.

You get access to revenant, and people are complaining that it’s OP too so get on that bandwagon before it gets nerfed. Ele was my first class so I was that before it was the hot thing and am still upset over the whirlpool nerf after all these years lol!
