I just wanted to know, is it possible to fix the broken Caladbolg if you trow 4 of them into the mystical dumpster? Or has anyone tried it?

you cant throw 4 into the forge.

tried that already.

So far I haven’t seen a recipe to fix it or anything. So I guess it will just be a broken remnant unless ANet decides on some Living Story quest that allows you to bring it before the Pale Tree or something.

That would be awkward, I destroyed the two I got.

It will be fixed and reforged to become a precursor known as Caledfwlch to become the legendary Excalibur.

You can throw them in the forge (and salvage them) but you don’t get anything special.

Hopefully they do something with it for LW Season 3? The story could really use a lot more follow-up with what has happened to the Grove and their inhabitants.

If Anet made Caladbolg the 2nd gen legendary sword, I’ll call in sick at work everyday till I’ve made it!! The fixed one that is, and of course with all the nice flashy effects .

“I don’t need to understand it. I only need to do what is right.”

I’m also believing it will either be a component in making the 2nd gen legendary greatsword or one handed sword.

Ugh… if that’s the case, I hope it’s a short follow-up just to be done with it. I like the sylvari and all, but admittedly I’m pretty tired of them being the focal point of the whole story and would like to move on already.

Actually… I think it may get fixed a bit, but remain a 1-handed “broken” sword.

Remember the Sanguinary Blade, from the Priory storyline? And have you ever wondered why the dwarves made such a dangerous weapon? Well, I think they were trying to make ::points at Caladbolg:: that. They just didn’t know how to purify it.

The Priory also has Zhaitan’s tail, or at least the bones of his tail. They could use those to make a weapon as well, another sword or perhaps a staff. Once purified, both it and the Sanguinary Blade should be on par with what Caladbolg can do as far as defying the powers of another Elder Dragon.

… that would be really awkward if this ends up as a component for a legendary sword, especially if it is for a one-hand sword (my main weapon). I thrown mine awaaaaaay.

If we do need it later, I’ll be properly coffeed.

You can toss the Broken Caladbolg in the forge, but it functions like the standard rare sword. Nothing special to it.

To those ‘worried’ about it being a component in a legendary – if that happens, it will likely just be unlocking the skin for a collection for the precursor.

Logan Thackeray would be better. Why? Same voice actor as Excalibur in the English dub of Soul Eater.

The humorous parts: Both Excalibur and Logan have their legend begin in the 13th century!

Honestly, ever since Nolan North was revealed as the voice actor for Logan Thackeray, I’ve been expecting some Excalibur-voice spoofs of Logan…. no one has presented something.

It will probably be needed for the a achievement that gets you the precursor recipe to male it a greatsword (as that is was the original form is)

It’s far more likely it’s one of the usual cases of “be careful what you wish for”. People kept asking Anet about making Caladbolg obtainable by players, so Anet decided to grant that wish. In their own way.
