Will there be flying mounts in guild wars 2 in the future?

More than likely no, we have gliders now so there won’t be a mount equivalent.

Actually Anet has said before there will probably never be mounts in the game. While a lot of people hate the idea it has been mentioned by the debs before. Yet somehow these threads just keep popping up…

That would be totally awesome. I love flying through the air in RPGs.

In Heart of Thorns we will be the mounts – as in, gliders on our back as we glide down as their mount.

Other than that, no.

Anet currently has a pretty firm stance against Mounts, and its mainly due to the way point system they put in the game when it launched. I am surprised we are getting Gliders to be honest, so other then more vertical zones down the road and more skins for the glider I doubt we will see anything resembling a formal mount.

However! there is the BroomStick and the Magic Carpet! While they do not ‘Fly’ they certainly float! 250Gems IIRC.

But we already have two flying mounts – a broom and a carpet. Oh, those are not what you had in mind? Too bad, because you are unlikely to ever get something different.
Also, the core game is unsuited for flying (even the gliders, that will get introduced in HoT, will be limited to HoT areas only).

Didn’t the devs say once that they wouldn’t have flight, like traditional flight, in GW2 because it would trivialize things like Vistas? Its been too long for me to remember exact comments.
