I’m sure this has been asked and answered numerous times but I can’t seem to find the topics so ill just make a quick new topic.

Do i get a free character slot when i buy the base HOT version from a local retailer or do you only get it when you buy it online from arenanet themselves.

If you registered your core Guild Wars 2 game before January 23, 2015 and register a pre-purchase serial code for Heart of Thorns any time before the expansion is released, you’ll receive a free character slot! Once you apply a pre-purchase serial code, you’ll be eligible for the slot regardless of where you bought the core game.

Yes, any pre-purchased edition will receive a bonus character slot if you meet the above qualifications.

I bought Standard Edition from Amazon. I entered my code, and about 9 days after I got the free bonus character slot.

IMO for the $50, anyone who bought the HOT, no matter what tier of purchase, should get at least one slot. Just seems like a common sense thing to do imo.
