one I get to a certain point beyond amber sandfall the game freezes and I have to force quit the game. is there anything I can do to fix this? I feel like this could be a common thing. I am also still patching so that may have something to do with it.

The freezing may be related to pending downloads, related to the game content (or a trailer). Best recommendation is to complete the entire game download before logging in to play.
