do i get heropoint everytime i level up at max level? or only a mastery point? or both?
im trying to get my elite specialization right now and only have 15 from heropoint locations. so do i ever get skillpoints from level up or not?

That is a good question.

You only get skill points when doing Hero Points. When working on the elite specialization most get the HPs in the HoT maps. Each HP gives 10 skill points so you only need 25 HPs which is just over 2 maps of HPs so you’ll need to do a few in TD (3rd map) to get the 250 (25 HPs) skill points needed to unlock your elite spec.

Or, you can obtain Hero Points by completing Hero Challenges in Core Tyria at a rate of one Hero Point/Hero Challenge.

Also, you can acquire Hero Points through WvW play.

Your 1st character will be the most difficult to get the elite spec because you won’t have many movement masteries unlocked, but as you get 10 HPs per challenge, it’s still quicker than using core Tyria or WvW. Plus you can get your HoT mastery points and mastery xp at the same time.

depends on how you level if you level from tomes you will get all the hero points needed to get all things unlocked then you can run around and do rest via tyria or HoT maps completes for elite spec, afterwards they just kinda sit there. i think of them as getting ready for the next expansion of elite specs .
