is HoT more group focused than solo?
It felt that way.
Yes, the map will be like Silverwastes. It would be very difficult to do those events solo. You would probably run out of time before you even completed them.
More like zerg focused. Tag following simulator 2015.

I’d say it would be a lot harder to follow and keep zergs together when we dive deeper into the jungle and require masteries (mushrooms, gliding, etc) to progress through.
Yeah it will be hard. For about a week or two.

Multiplayer is not equal to group content.
As in most of the game, the events are group focussed. The tendecy as seen in Drytop, The silverwastes, but even cursed shore continues there. However, the exploration element is solo-focussed. Further. much events use the simple hack and slash-tactic. Only a very few events require actual cooperation. So no need to interact with anyone and still have fun.
So no you can’t solo the events, but it is not as if you have to be in a party or communicate with people around you either.

I have to say it makes a big difference when there’s no zerg around. I played the third session and was solo at the beginning. It went really well and because it was dynamic, there were fewer mobs to deal with. I was able to actually follow the story which I couldn’t do when in the zerg. So if you want a more enjoyable experience wait until the crowd has moved on.

I had to laugh at that one.

It is solo-able in that I don’t need to wait in the LFG queue to do something. Most events require multiple people to complete, but I don’t need to group with them. We complete the event and then move as each of us feel like.
In silverwastes I would bounce between two fortresses doing the events at both and moving doylaks and what ever my pop up. I consider this solo play since I am not beholden to coordinate with a group. However, unless there is a critical mass of people in the various areas, some events will fail.
Only when you get placed on a completely new instance is it very hard to get things started. But once you get through one cycle then the map is always doable. I expect the same with the Verdant Green.
