You can hop from mastery bar to mastery bar at will even if you haven’t trained them, so long as they are different lines. The problem hits when you are on your last line, as I am. I have had the xp to train Nuhoch challenging for a few days but I don’t have the points to spend so I can go on to the chak goop removal tier, and I’ve maxed all the other HoT lines. So all my XP gained in the HoT areas isn’t helping me.
I guess my next project is to track down any achievable mastery points I don’t yet have (a few strongboxes, silver in some adventures) and hope to eke out enough to get to the chak goop training. I won’t worry about not being able to buy that since once it’s maxed in xp I won’t need more xp for anything anyway.
Unless raiding shares the mastery point pool and uses general HoT xp gains to train. I haven’t got Vale Guardian down yet (only two tries thus far, neither with a full group, for learning purposes only) so for all I know I’ll have things to train there.
