Ok so i started lvling a revenant , i get to 80, then im not able to get Herald skills, as i cant gain any experience until i unlock masteries, that means i have a ton of story quests to do to get there, sacrificing a too much experience, i will not be able to unlock herald.

You don’t need to do the story or grind masteries to get herald unlocked.

This is just not true OP, you need only masteries for few HPs. You can still skip them and unlock your herald with the rest. You don’t need story for it at all. Maybe the first mission of HoT that can take 5 minutes if you rush through it.

You unlock masteries after the first HoT mission which as I said takes 5 minutes if you want to rush through it. You can start this first mission anytime, just go to your story journal and start the HoT story.

You cant start it any time, a new character has to unlock all the story … and in doing so i will loose all the accumulated experience!! … which i need to unlock herald.

No, new character doesn’t need to unlock all the story. My herald character doesn’t have the personal story completed, I never did LS2 missions with him and you won’t lose any exp because you can switch back to personal story (in story journal) at any time.

BTW you don’t need any exp to unlock herald. You need Hero Points.

It was stated already you “only” need the Heropoints to train into herald – which you can do in Tyria for a big part.

OP confuses something. He thinks he needs to gain XP in order to gain Hero Points. This is wrong. Just walk into the new areas and get all the Hero Challenges you can to unlock the Herald. I did so with my Revenant. I even insta leveled to 80 without any Hero Points left. After a day I had Herald fully unlocked.

Not my first, but haven’t played for a long time, experience used to give skill points after 80, so was assuming it would do so for me to gain herald. So now ive leant that only heropoints count ok…
