so from what I understand we will be getting new legendary weaps in HoT which will be account bound.
now, will we still be able to get (from drops) pres for old legendary weaps tho?

Like, I really wanna get The Bifrost but Im only like half through farming gold for The Legend…
I need to know if I can still take it easy on gold farming or need to start spending 20h a day in SW

I see no reason why anything would change with hot coming out. Everything for current legendary weapons would be the same. Maybe just some price drops

Why buy the legend now when you will be able to craft the pre when hot launches?

I really like the way Bifrost Looks! I cannot afford to buy/make it now, hence why I am asking if I should grind for gold. And thank you the clear answer!

No, there will be an entirely new series of legendary equipment introduced in HoT. However, you will still be able to “craft” the series 1 legendary precursors as well as currently existing methods.

Vova, what you should be doing is farming for all of the other mats you need for bifrost, but NOT the precursor. Get yourself the gift of bifrost, gift of fortune, and gift of mastery, and then wait for HoT to come out. Once it’s out, you’ll be able to craft the Legend.

i’m still holding on to my Gift of Mastery and Gift of Fortune. My next legendary project is a staff but i’m not fond of The Bifrost, so i’m keeping my option open to see what the new legendary staff will look like.

they may actually become easier to get via precursor crafting, but i dont know which precursors will or will not be craftable. is it only the new ones or the old ones as well ?

also, if the old precursors become craftable in addition to the current system, they will become much less expensive and will devalue a lot, as well as the legendaries they are used to produce. keep that in mind, there may be a point when you can buy the bifrost for less then it currently costs to get the legend and then you’ll be QQing.

Precursors for both the current set and the new set will be “craftable” I believe through the mastery or the collection system. These will be account bound and my understanding is that legendaries both old and new created using these precursors are also account bound on acquire.

Precursors for the current set of legendaries are still obtainable through regular drops, mystic forge etc. These precursors can still be sold on the TP and legendaries created using them can still be sold on the TP.

So once HoT hits, the price of the current precursors/legendaries may drop due to a potential decrease in demand, but it won’t be dropping due to an increase in supply. And you also have to take into account that the new precursor crafting limits it to one copy of each per account. There are people out there who want multiple of the same legendary and they will still be buying precursors and legendaries from the TP

I highly doubt that the old gifts will be used in crafting the new legendaries.
They already mentioned that you will need dark energy, salvaged from ascended gear in order to craft new legendary gear in HoT.
Only a handful of new legendaries will be introduced with HoT anyways and I doubt it will be a staff as the Bifrost is pretty popular.

People also seem to forget that pursuing your new or old precursor to craft will lock your current mastery progression, which means you wont be able to progress within maguuma jungle for example.

In the prior betas, you could choose which Mastery line to advance, and switch between them at any time.

Wasn’t the Precursor Mastery line set for Pact Tyria? So, when in Pact Tyria, you could switch to that Mastery line, and when in Heart of Maguuma, switch to one of the HoM-only Mastery lines? That’s how it was set up before, but maybe they have changed it. I guess we will know more next weekend.

What the heck are “men’s colors”? Are we segregated from using certain colors? Does that mean female characters created by males can’t use Black or Purple? Or can males not even create female characters, because they aren’t “men’s characters”?

I’m also working on the Bifrost atm. But I’m waiting for HoT to make my own Legend. It just feels right.

Well that and I don’t grind enough to afford the Legend.

You are only partially right. Some new legendaries will come out with HoT, but not the whole set. The remaining ones will be introduced later on.
No, we do not know what weapons will end up in which group.
