when we choose specialisation are we only able to use one weapon in that moment ? or all ?

I wonder a little

or is it that all utilities for all weapons got a different function ?

that would be like we getting more then just one new class

Or we only be in mastery mode while holding the new weapon ?

i don’t know if there is an official answer but my guess would be you can use all weapons you could normally use as whatever your profession then in your specialization you can use 1 more say GS for necro

They definitely won’t restrict specializations to ONLY the specialized weapon. Not only would that be terribly restrictive and boring in a game that emphasizes weapon variety, but we’re already aware of at least one profession that’s getting a 1H weapon (specifically an offhand weapon). Mesmer is getting Shield. You can’t very well force a profession to use ONLY an offhand weapon.

Now, we may lose the option to use one other weapon. We don’t know for sure, but I’ve seen people theorize that they may remove 1 weapon from specializations in exchange for the new one (for example, Ranger might lose Longbow when they specialize to Druid in exchange for getting Staff). Or it might just be a new weapon added without losing any of the normal profession weapons. We don’t know for sure, and won’t until Anet gives us more info about how specializations work exactly.

looking at the mesmer specialization specifically i wouldnt be suprised if the main hand skills for each weapon change when you switch over to the specialization from Vanilla mesmer
