overwolf and beta
Simply put, dont record with overwolf.
I used it in the past and the quality is meh given the size that it takes to store the video(even in HD) , not to mention the audio can get messed up at times.
If you are looking for something free, use Open Broadcaster
If you dont mind paying about $30 use Dxtory or Fraps (the former being my personal favorite because of how audio is recorded and the quality)
Lower the recording quality, frame rate, frame size or use a different compressor? Not sure what Overwolf supports. For comparison, a high quality 1920×1080 recording is around 1.5GB/min and an uncompressed recording is around 10GB/min. You then take these high quality files and compress them prior to uploading them to something like YouTube. Personally, I end up with something like 60-150 MB/min, 1080@30fps.
If you have a supported NVidia card, simply use ShadowPlay.
try recording at a lower fps? Recording at 30 fps will look just fine.
recording for 2 hours is gonna be a HHD hog to say the least though.

No video compression.

i need help about recording the beta today,
im using OverWolf as a record program and i want to REC everything on HD but 15 min is 4 GB!
how is that possible
its easy – its as uncompressed as Fraps-Files (saves you CPU due not compressing footage)
Do you have an “actual” NVidia Card ? the’ve a build in recording functionality called “shadow play”
Hey,
Are you sure you’re using an up to date version of Overwolf? What kind of settings are you using? If you’re not using the newest version of the video recorder, there’s nothing to talk about as we’ve vastly improved it over previous versions. Make sure you’re on version 0.84.92 and you should see 4 different encoders (Nvidia NVENC, AMD VCE, Intel Quick Sync and X.264) along with a multitude of preset choices and quality options.
I can’t even describe how much better our new recorder is than our previous recorder, and I’m not trying to be sale-y or anything its a seriously large step in improvement.
We do indeed have compression on our files, MP4 to be exact. It all depends on the quality you choose to record with as our file sizes will be the same as OBS (for example) if you choose the same recording settings.
For example, a 15 minute video of me jumping around Divinity’s Reach around Minister’s Waypoint is around 450MB at High Quality, 1080P using the Nvidia NVENC encoder.

I use OBS to record cause you can change the bit rate to whatever quality you want.
Works great and usually keeps vids pretty small.
