What happens to skill scrolls that we currently have? do they give the new currency if used after the expansion? is there any information on the conversion from skill points to new currency? I just don’t want to lose out on anything that i’ve gathered.

I’m sorry, Dave. I’m afraid I can’t do that.

From the wiki. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Hero_point
“Characters with skill points in excess of those earned by leveling and skill challenges will be converted into crafting materials for the Mystic Forge.
Items and activities that were previously repeatable sources of skill points will now also provide that same crafting material.”

The skill points from leveling and skill challenges will become Hero points. All other skill points will become “djiningots.”
When they say crafting material they probably mean it will be like skill points. They will be used to buy items for mystic forge crafting, such as Augur’s Stones. They won’t become a crating mat. They will be a currency for crafting.
When they say repeatable sources they probably mean sources such as PvP and champ bags

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

Whether you use your skill scrolls now or after the changes, as long as you don’t spend those skill points, they will be converted to the new material.

When they say repeatable sources they probably mean sources such as PvP and champ bags

And “levelling” above 80.

When they look at the characters, they are able to see exactly how many skill challenges are completed by counting them through the world map. From this number, plus the number you unlocked from leveling, you will have a final number that correlates to the number of hero points you can have. The skill scrolls used for points will not affect that world map number, but they can be counted if you have more points spent on skills than you have unlocked in the world. If you had spent any “skill scroll” skill points on items at the Mystic Forge, then you don’t have to worry about them anyway because that’s what the “Djinngots” will be used for (so you already got what you were going to get).

The only issue with this, potentially, is if somebody just didn’t buy any skills and spent the rest on Mystic Forge items. Those players may seem to come out on top, perhaps…

No, I gather from what they say it won’t be from leveling above 80. When a char gets to level 80 it loses its experience bar and gains a Mastery Bar. The mastery bar doesn’t progress from gaining experience but from another, not yet named method of progression.

It appears that ANet wishes to limit the number of djiningots that flow into the game.

Interesting, thanks for letting me know. I’ll have to read up on the mastery system.

It’s a possible new name for the currency that excess skill points are going to become.

Djinn + ingot

Just a joke name devs came up during the stream for the new currency. Zommoros is a djinn, hence the name.
