please allow us to change servers when HOT is released

I have been away from this game for a while because my WVW is DEAD
and has been ever sense a few of the BIG guilds left all at once over a year ago
the server population has yet to re-stabilize !

but i am waiting for the release of HOT to come back to the game
if I end up having to pay for a server swap and the HOT expansion I am just going to call it quits for this game

server swaps r not cheep in this game … and there is no way to pre test wvw on different servers before u make your move

I cant be swapping servers every time 2 major guild leaders have a disagreement and leave a server …. destroying the population !

idk it has been over a year and my wvw is just as empty as ever lol ………

SOOO my server population says very high like all the other servers
but that does not mean that is the wvw population

-server price is based off of population

-population is based off of ALL players on a server PVE, WVW, PVP

-but every thing besides WVW has a mega server

-therefor the only people who would pay for a server swap is a WVW player

-but the price of the server swap is being jacked up by all the PVE players
and does not take in to consideration number of WVW players on a server

I heard word they may add factions to help with the wvw population and time zone differences …… but I am doubtful that it was true

I can say for sure that won’t happen.
If you want to change server this bad, then pay for it, just like you’ll pay for the HoT.

i am not desperate to change servers i haven’t played this game for some time now
i am looking to get back in to it with the release of HOT

but i would really like to see anet do something about the servers there is a lot of problems with them when it comes to wvw

I doubt very much a server swap will come free with HoT. For one thing, the new bordlands map and accompanying mechanics may very well shake things up. If they added server swaps as well, things could get very mixed up and leaderboards could shift dramatically. For one thing everyone will be server swapping based on old WvW experience, not on new HoT experience. This could potentially result in your free swap being wasted due to everyone shifting around and messing up the population and balance.

In my opinion it makes no sense to give a free server swap with the expansion.

As we will be getting the new BL, even if you don’t own HoT, my suggestion would be to try out the new BL, see how it plays out and see how populations react to it, saving gold while you do so, THEN if you still want to swap, convert gold to gems to get a transfer.

Server change is a source of money for Anet. They have no reason to give it for free.

Odds of this happening are slim to none….

If anything they will do what they have done in the past to try and “even out” the population:

(Hike FULL / HIGH pop server transfers and reduce or make FREE LOW pop transfers)

….so I guess if you want to transfer to a LOW population server, you just may get your wish.

It’s really unlikely to happen. However, if I were you, I would try to get into WvW just after HoT hits. With the influx of new/returning players, you might end up being in the right server, at least for a while. Those like me in a T3 server will likely have hour long queues, and I can’t imagine what it will be like on T1 servers.

You’ll need the collectors edition for that. You didn’t think it would be free did you?

You can change servers for free. You just have to delete all of your characters first. The fee is to move your characters from one server to another. If there are no characters you can transfer your account to any non-full server. You can even change from US to EU (and vice versa).
