they are way too weak. about 5 of us killed the amber one before the zerg could reach us and a bunch of ppl didn’t get credit. I know what that’s like, its really frustrating to miss the mastery point time after time. pls buff health by ~50%.

…but but but… stopping hitting something? Isn’t that, like, against the rules of online gaming? I think the online gaming police come and arrest you if you do that as a courtesy to others.

Yes, why didn’t you just slow down? If you hit once, you get the loot and the kill for the mastery point.

It’s something I don’t understand in this game, especially with low level events for the dailies. These events don’t scale properly, and if the daily “participate in events” is in one of the starter areas, it’s really hard for people to participate. As soon as the group of mobs spawns, they are gone because everybody starts hitting them. Fact is, if you hit once, you get the event for your daily. But I see people trying to kill as many mobs as possible, as if they would ever succeed in disturbing your escort or get even close to the fort/bridge you are protecting.

Karka Queen goes down very fast too, and a few times I missed her even though I was on the map for 30 minutes already. Especially annoying if you arrive in the last seconds and she dodges all your attacks.

It’s in the hand of the players to decide when a mob goes down most of the time. It works for Octovines and Triple Trouble, but for some reason, people keep smashing at event mobs before others can join, knowing how rarely they spawn. If that legendary is so weak, it would hardly be a danger to the players that requires a fast kill.

Maybe it was a special day yesterday, but I met an unusual number of purely selfish and hostile players, especially in Fractal pugs. At those people: if the game annoys you so much, take a break. That’s why some people prefer playing the game solo.

This post is semi hilarious. It goes from a complaint about boss health and sympathy for those that didn’t get a hit in, to accusation of selfishness of the OP and the 4 others that were there when the Leg spawned.

IMO manned or unmanned map, if someone needs something in SW that spawns at a known location, then they should be at that known location waiting for it, period! No sympathy if they didn’t get a hit in because they were otw, and no judgement for those that did get a hit in. If you need it, you’re there, not only when it spawns, but well before ensuring that it could spawn.

Staying to defend a fort because you want something that’s there?

PEEE SHAAAAW!! That’s not how the zerg works!

I completely agree with this, however they can still go down too quick even if you’re at the right fort. When I was going for them I waited at amber, legendary spawned at the other end of the fort, I ran straight toward it but it was dead before I’d even covered enough ground to get in fireball range. Must have been max 20-25 seconds!

Don’t know if it was bugged, or if there were just lots of people doing insane dps, but I’ve seen this happen quite a few times at other legendaries too. So even being at the right for doesn’t guarantee someone will be able to get a hit in.

This is true killer, but at the same time there have been countless others that fail because everyone that was there or otw was so focused on the leg and not focused on ensuring the fort isn’t lost in the process.

Scaling the health would be viable to ensure more people get a hit in, but in addition, the spawn chance should be higher and at a much lower tier. Otherwise it continues to be unfair for those that did wait and prepare for the T3 spawn chance.

its easier if its only 5 ppl to tell them to lower their dps rather than to tell to anet to pull ppl to make the changes.

Better scaling would mean they actually scale. The legendaries don’t scale. If you would not attack one and wait for 60 people and then attack it at once, you would kill it within a few seconds. Before HoT, players did way less damage, so you had more time to get there. Now a single player can kill it in a reasonable time.

Same goes for the bloodstoned crazed beasts and their HP. Especially the moa that has less HP then a rabbit.

You are incorrect: they do scale up as the number of players attacking increases. Since your basis of your comment is false, the rest of it is irrelevant.

If 5 people can kill them, that isn’t very “legendary”.

And I think they must be too weak because when one pops I can’t get to it before it’s dead even if I drop what I’m doing and go straight there and it’s only in the next fort over (not 1/2 map away or anything).

Now, that’s a much more legitimate complaint; perhaps they would benefit from raising their starting HP to reduce the risk that they die before players get in position and trigger them to scale up.

(Though I’d prefer to see it still possible for five players to kill it, or even one fairly patient player, just to avoid them being unkillable content when the map is less busy. Assuming that ever happens, since SW seems to be pretty robustly persistent…)

Pretty much this. Enough baseline health to make it a real effort for a handful of players so that it survives long enough for other players to move in to help, but not so much that its an insurmountable obstacle for that handful if they are dedicated.
