Class mechanic based things like steal recharge are be split half will be baseline and half will be in a (minor) trait.

ANet has written already what they do with the stats, they partwise increasse everyones base max stats from 9xx something to a full 1000.

They will change the stats of our equipment as another means of compensation, so that our equipment will get stat boosts.

Means the +300 power from for say the trait line that was responsisble to increase your power iwll be divided up and be found partwise in the base statt boost and partwise in the equipment stat boost.

Means, basically everyone will become stronger wioth the changes because the stats of the trait lines will get merged into our base stats and equipment stats, so that the core specializations won’t be bonded anymore with the stat bonus values, so that you can from that point on choose freely the traits, that you WANT to USE and not anymore, because you NEED to use them to get just simply the stat bonus that you need for your build.

Thats a very wise decision and one, that should have been done in my opinion from release day one on already. That whole stats on traitlines crap was way too limiting the build variety of this game.

Personally I like the idea behind sub classes ~ quoted from Chris Whiteside

I really want to know how much extra stats our armor parts will gain cause 74extrapoints in base stats doesnt sounds like much.

Yeah, but I have glass gear on my chars and I was using healing and vitality traits where needed to finish the builds I wanted. It especially hits my Altruistic Hammer guardian who could do a lot of damage with berserker armor, weapons and trinkets but could heal completely up 100% when needed with the investment in the trait lines.

I guess I’ll have to redo the armor on some. At least I didn’t make Ascended armor. I feel sorry for those people who did so and now their builds are ruined.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

It will take like piece or two of gear to change the stats to get same stats as in current builds.

One thing people are forgetting, especially in pve where survivability stats are not needed, all those classes with defensive/offensive stats in one trait line, will get a dps buff in HoT. They’ll be able to build completely offensively (stats wise), not like now.

Oh, now I get it. The stats will be part baseline, part in the traits. It makes it a lot easier now when picking traits and not worrying about extra power, crit dmg and so on.
