why no jumping puzzles?
There are at least a couple of jumping puzzles in HoT. They’re simply not listed as jumping puzzles.
Why must something have an achievement in the jumping puzzles section of the game to be considered a jumping puzzle.
There’s a jumping puzzle that requires leyline gliding, for example, but also has jumping in it past the Golem HP in AB. To get to the top of the great tree without gliding, you have to do a jumping puzzle and there is a chest at the end. There’s a jumping puzzle in VB with a mastery point on top of it.
I’m sure there are more as well. They’re just not called jumping puzzles. In every other particular they are.
Edit: There even a jumping puzzle to get to the top of an airship in TD that’s a hidden achievement.
Why no jumping puzzles in Bloodstone Fen? Probably because of Heart of Thorns. There was a lot of backlash on the forums because of jumping puzzles almost everywhere on all four maps in some form or another. While I didn’t mind them, more than a few people here and elsewhere did. And they were more than vocal about it.
Thus, you’re not seeing one in the general sense in Bloodstone . . . if I had to guess.
Bloodstone Fen got nuked. It would be astounding if there were a chest at the end of a puzzle in a bloodstone wasteland.
That Vista in Tarir seems like a JP. The one where the egg is?

Correct. There are two in Auric, the other needs leyline gliding to complete
There is at least one in Tangled Depths too involving some mushrooms. I fell off at the final jump much to my immense pleasure………
OP, the silverwastes JP was a hit. In fact the praise was glowing when it first was released into the game.

Paper journals survived!
I think the team that made jumping puzzles and SAB is not with them anymore. It would explain why both of them have ceased to be developed.

They were laminated.

I’m pretty sure Josh is still there.

Understood!
Pls no more extreme puzzle maps… I’m about to jump the train because of VB and AB hassle… friggin hate puzzles when the game becomes all about it. Only thing right now that keeps me playing is my joy for my druid. When I finally reach a HP or Mastery champion, nobody is there because of some event I can’t reach either. Soloed a few champs – and veterans at the same time, but some are plain too hard.
I’m just pushing through it, at the same time getting exp to progress the story.
Silverwastes was actually rather fun, but VB/AB where I’m currently at has me lookin that tired hulk face.

Ever think of joining a casual guild that can help you get that stuff?
Silverwastes jumping puzzle is a lot of fun, sure it takes time, but it’s enjoyable and a journey and a real place you can explore with your guild and have a laugh doing so, with a nice achievement and humour at the end; re the dowsing rod, mini-quest. It’s not that hard, but long. I think it’s a good balance.
It would be nice if there were more in future. They’re a somewhat unique part of GW 2. The more banal the game becomes the more players won’t think twice about leaving for others etc.

And that’s why you bring a necro with spectral walk for it

There are two jumping puzzles in Tangled Depths. The mushroom JP you mentioned right at the Mushroom Queen Hero Point, and another well-hidden one off one of the underwater passages underneath the map. That hidden JP doesn’t have a treasure chest at the end, but you earn a secret achievement if you /dance once you make it to the final room. And things happen.
If you look at it a bit differently, you have a few puzzles in the HoT maps though… Just think about figuring out how to get some mastery points, strongboxes, chests/splendid chests. Not all has to require jumping around.
If you are doing the puzzles for the reward, then there are several chests in both Auric Basin and Tangled Depths, that don’t require any keys to open them (similar to jp-end-chests).
All maps in the game (overworld maps anyway) have at least 1 jumping puzzle. With the exception of Dragon’s Stand and now Bloodstone Fen. The puzzles are now categorized under the map achievement tab. I think that makes it easier to find where you should look for a puzzle. I wish old maps were as detailed and had all hearts replaced with interesting events… then they could add map currencies for those too. But that’s me dreaming lol.
Brisban Wildlands also doesn’t have a jumping puzzle. It was the only original map that lacked one, besides the non-Lion’s Arch cities.
I know of atleast 1 “JP” in AB (The ley line one by golem mastery point), and 2 in TD. I’m not sure if any of these 3 are under the JP category though.
1 of the TD ones https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Disco_Dancing_Delver looks alot like a jp, but isn’t. The other 1 in TD with the mushrooms may be an actual JP though, because there is a chest at the end.
[HaHa] Hazardous Hallucination
Part of Disco Dancing Delver is a jp where you have to climb the branches. It’s not a big part – probably on par with Ungaunt or Viziers – but there is jumping.
If the two mastery points in Verdant Brink on canopy over the Pact encampment are not jumping puzzles, I don’t know what is.
Collecting both of them took me a lot of falling down – they’re both pretty hard.
A jumping puzzle is in the next map! Source: http://dulfy.net/2016/09/06/gw2-lw3-episode-2-arrives-sept-20-with-ring-of-fire/
Ooh i cannot wait for this hope the JP is decent and we get to see the mursaat again!
Thanks for all the replies guys, i do wish that the JPs in new areas were recognised as achievements for example, however i am glad i can still get my JP fix in the new maps
