I watched the Wooden Potatoes recap and he pointed out there that it maybe was a possibility that the Aetherblade pirates could be the predecessors of the Crimson Skull pirates. First of all because Mai Trin has a sort of Canthan look on her. Second the flag of the Aetherblades does look like a skull:

Then again this could be nothing at all as the two flags don’t look like each other at all, other then the red colour.

So my question is what do you guys think?

You do realize how common a skull for a pirate flag is, right? Just about every pirate flag contains a skull.

I doubt that Mai’s descendency has much to do with the Aetherblades’ origins, given that while she’s a captain she doesn’t seem to be the leader and that the Aetherblades is a multi-racial pirate group.

always found it funny that the crimson skull’s skull was actually white :P
