Ok, so, Southsun Cove opens up as a resort and we get a ship in place that will take us from LA to Southsun.

At a guess (I’m no sailor) the boat would probably leave LA, skirt round to the west of Claw Island and head straight through to Southsun. Simples.

Now the Bazaar has landed. YAY!! And we get a ship in place that will take us from LA to Labyrinthine Cliffs.

The boat would probably leave LA, skirt round to the west of Claw Island, then ….. erm ….. hmmmm.

As far as I can see, any way they go they’ll be entering sea that is notorious for Dead Ships and sea dwelling Risen.

Personally, I would have thought the boat would have been left for Southsun and then we get an airship from LA to the further places. But they haven’t.

So how, exactly, does one sea voyage (I’m going with a single sea voyage because at no time (afaik) is it mentioned that there’ll be changes on the way) take us from Lion’s Arch to Labyrinthine Cliffs?

Presumably, the seas have cleared somewhat due to attrition after Zhaitan’s death… and keep in mind, even at the height of their power, the Risen were never able to cut off trade. A greater obstacle is the Shark’s Teeth Archipelago. The bridges across it should cut off all access by ship to the Sea of Elon.

All of the living stories are presumably after the defeat of Zhaitan.

Officially, yeah. ANet stated that the events of Lost Shores and Flame and Frost canonically took place after the events of Arah Story Mode, and all subsequent Living Story events have flowed on from there. So while Arah and the surrounding areas is still a Risen-infested hell pit, the seas may have already started to be made safe for travel by the Pact and the Lionguard navy.

Zhaitan’s dead by this time and the risen are ever decreasing. I doubt that Dead Ships are a huge problem now.

The REAL question is how it gets pass Izz-al-Din, that’s rather shallow waters there.

Maybe ships from Lion’s Arch go a certain way, and then the Zephyrites pick up those who come for their bazaar?

Except there are actually Lion’s Arch ships visible on the horizons of the Labyrinthine Cliffs zone, so we can’t use that excuse.
