I was wondering about this the other day.

I mean, what’s the maximum age of a centaur? Is it not far greater than that of a human being? What happened to Razah? And what about necromancers? Did we ever hear anything from the Master of Whispers? Olias? What happened to Livia after she found the Sceptre of Orr? Could she have used it to potentially prolong her life to make an appearance in GW2?

We already know that Ogden is in the game. And there’s mention of some of the other heroes’ untimely deaths. But there’s quite a few left untouched. Was this done on purpose to allow space for expansion? Or were some of these characters simply left forgotten?

(Also, I’ve checked Wiki to try and figure out as much as I possibly can. But perhaps there’s something I missed and someone else did in fact read it – Or got to talk to a dev recently about anything related to this)

We know the fate of a few of them.

Anton, as stated above has a grave next to the battlepit near the vigil keep.

Stefan, died in the foefire and saddly his ghost now haunts Ascalon. He appears as an ememy in one of the Charr personal stories.

There are graves to Reyna, Little Thom and one of them who I cant remember at the Granite Citadel ruins.

Talon seems to have returned to Cantha cause one of his decendents lead the Tengu from their across the waves to the Deminion of Winds.

Pyre is celebrated by the Charr for his rebellion against the Flame Legion. He lived at least long enough to have a kid though we dont know how he died.

Jora is also celebrated by her people and we also know she lived long enough to have a kid since her decendent is part of the Vigil.

Gwen is buried at Ebonhawke.

To be honest, the only two Id be sure to think are still around are Ogden and MOX. Livia might be an outside chance though she probably would still be linked to the Shining Blade somehow and Razah could also be around somewhere though we dont really know enough about his nature to be sure if he aged or not.

Stefan, died in the foefire and saddly his ghost now haunts Ascalon. He appears as an ememy in one of the Charr personal stories.

I wouldn’t be certain on this. Foefire ghosts are all blue, however at least during the BWE Stefan’s ghost was white(ish) – non-Foefire ghosts are white(ish), indicating that Stefan did not die in the Foefire.

Pyre is celebrated by the Charr for his rebellion against the Flame Legion. He lived at least long enough to have a kid though we dont know how he died.

Kalla was born in 1079 AE, so Pyre’s child (be it son or daughter that was Kalla’s parent) was already an adult by the time of Eye of the North.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

I have to admit, I didnt notice that about Stefan. All the others seemed to be Foefire Ghosts so I assumed he was too.

My point on Pyre is that he would have had to live long enough to have had a kid for Kalla to be his decendent. Kind of the same as Jora had to have had a kid to have a decendent in the Vigil.

Unless Pyre had already had one and we didnt know about it which is perfectly possible.

As such, Pyre could have died in late 1078 AE for all we know – though I doubt this.

I’m really looking forward to see what happened to Razzah (because of his condition and his relation to the mists as a really unique life form), and Xandra, always my first hero on the team I wonder if she returned with the Luxons after her travels or she just kept travelling the world. Can’t wait for the Canthan expansion to tell us how things are going in that continent.

I also wonder what happened with Livia. Last we knew she had found the scepter of Orr, but except for a brief mention in the first book, and a point of interest in the last dungeon named Wreckage of “Lady Livia”, we don’t get too much info on this (unless I didn’t pay attention to something, or somehow we found her in that dungeon, I haven’t done it yet…).

PS: I didn’t know about Anton’s tomb! I will visit him as I love to visit gw1 related places

And random thought, Razah could possibly in some way be the Colossus, couldn’t it? I don’t remember a lot about his/its story, but I think it took the form of a humanesque being because that’s what was familiar. Perhaps it took the form of the Colossus, because evil chanters were trying to harness his mistness.

Razah has a human-like form because “When the Mists come into contact with a suitable human template, for example, it can copy that form, creating a sentient entity with humanoid appearance and an almost human mind.” I don’t think Razah can actually change his form at all, but its entirely possible that the colossus was formed in the mists in much the same way as Razah was – by the mists coming into contact with some form of human-like template.

Livia seemed focused on doing some major future proofing for Kryta. Its quite likely that her fate is tied to the inner secrets of the Shining Blade, which she lead after Salma became queen.

The Shining Blades hold alot of secrets. Even their leader, Anise, seems to have some air of mystery around her apart from her being a very powerful mesmer. For that matter Divinity’s Reach seems to have alot of secrets hiding beneath the surface.

In the plaque reading Blimm’s life and achievement, he’s mentioned as conselour of Livia (I don’t remember if a title before the name was added). That was the brief mention to her, we only know Blimm, a very powerful golemancer and necromancer was his conselour, and that there is a point of interest in Arah named the wreckage of “Lady Livia”, the comas makes me think the Lady Livia was a ship named after her, so no proof she even got there or not. I’m very curious about her fate as she carried a very powerful artifact related to the place.

If i remember right, feel free to correct me on this but, In the order of whispers I think the current master of whispers said that the last one went mad. Though it has been a few years the Master of Whispers in GW1 was quite old so it could of been his successor that went mad.

i hope he swims the oceans to reach Orr to kick zhaitan’s butt!

also the Mursaat “Lazarus the Dire” is likely hiding and hatching an evil plot to get revenge on the stickin’ humans, and their dumb dog too!

If anything I expect Joko to be dealing with the remnants of Zhaitan’s minions and possibly the occasional run-in with Kralkatorrik’s as well, though he’s a bit further north. He’ll also be dealing with any new issues that may have arisen in Elona (or resistance of the humans and other races).

I would expect any mursaat related updates to focus primarily on the White Mantle and/or its alliance with the Nightmare Court and the Inquest, possibly something to do with Fort Vandal.

Personally I’m expecting either taking the Elder Dragon fight to Jormag or something dealing with the Inquest/White Mantle/Inquest alliance.

That said, there’s little evidence to suggest that Brand have left the Dragonbrand and continued heading south. Kralkatorrik seems to have stopped in the northern part of the Crystal Desert. Unless Joko decided to expand north (which is possible) I don’t think he’d have too much interest in the EDs currently.

Koss on Koss is also a book you can find in Divinity’s Reach. They named the ascended backpiece after the book. That leaves me with the question, are all copies of the book powerful pieces of equipment? Is Koss so hardcore that writing about him alone gives a book magical power? I wouldn’t be surprised if that is the case.

Kind of off-topic, but not really I guess:

Reading through this thread really brought back some great memories of the Guild Wars storyline. Such a rich world. I really enjoyed playing through Tyria, Cantha, and Elona. Many times

Somehow that depth of richness is just missing so far in GW2. None of the NPC’s so far are really all that memorable. I hope that richness and depth find their way into GW2, and soon.

Well yes, I was referring to the previous Master of Whispers, the one before Riel Darkwater.

I think we can safely assume that there have been some Master of Whispers between Jurah and the current one.
