Yesterday while doing this JP in Sparkfly, I noticed glowing markings on the ground.
Upon closer inspections it turns out to be things written in asuran scripts.

I’ve yet to try to translate some of them and before I really try my hand at this painful task (because the marking only seem to appear with the right camera angle, and even then, some are hard to see), has this been already done ?

I don’t see it on the wiki page for it, so maybe not. Can you post a couple screenshots of where it appears and possibly what you saw? It would probably speed up the translation process.

Here’s some of them.

It’s quite difficult to take good ones because there’s stuff written all over and sometime some letters end up in the wall so you don’t even know where some sentences start. Then you have to get the right angle, especially if you want to get a lot of words in one screenshot.

The best way to see them would be to go in-game, but some of them are written upside down >.>
If it hasn’t been done before I’ll try to get a few phrases translated.

So after getting a few phrases and thanks to google, what is written is hexfoundry is the same thing that is found in the Thaumanova Reactor (http://asuralations.tumblr.com/post/63518416500/an-asuran-account-thaumanova-reactor)

“We are the asura, lords of deep domains that are now denied to us, overwhelmed by numbers, power and brute force. We have been forced to this open, sun-filled world and forced to rebuild our civilization. That we have succeeded is a testament to the indomitable spirit and innate intelligence of our people. In every day and with every invention, we rebuild our world and bend reality to match our needs. The Eternal Alchemy states that everything is interwoven. The actions of a single asura, of one experiment, can have wider implications throughout the world. We are all part of the Eternal Alchemy, whether as cogs, pistons, wheels, springs, or arcanic crystals. The ultimate goal in life is to comprehend the greater purpose of the Eternal Alchemy and to strive in perfecting it.”

Is there any lore tied to Hexfoundry ? How did an asuran lab, or at least the remains of one, end up there and it’s such a state ?

Are there other Asuran places where similar markings can be found ?

Could the hexfoundry lab be tied to the Thaumanova accident ?

There are consoles scattered throughout the place that tell its story. They were experimenting on undead minions when they got too greedy and corrupted something they couldn’t contain, so they evacuated the inner complex.

Actually, almost all the asuran labs have that script. I would imagine it says the same thing on all of them, but I’ve never actually checked.

Probably not directly, no. It does seem to be working on the same project as the Crucible of Eternity though.

That texture used on the floor in the images are commonplace amongst many asuran lab. I think folks translated it to be “Eternal Alchemy” repeatedly, though I could easily be mistaken there.

As to the lore of Hexfoundry – what I gathered was that it was a dragon minion (primarily risen) containment lab for the Inquest. One more powerful risen broke free and by wrecking the containment of the other subjects basically caused a riot. I always figured that said powerful risen was the Champion Risen Turtle there, which was sadly removed when they gave all champions a related event.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
