Bloodstones and Dragons
Some, such as myself, believe they are the reason why the dragons are in/moving to continental Tyria. Thing is, until near the end of the personal story, it’s merely theory that the Elder Dragons consume magic – and that theory is presented with small support 20-30 levels into the game and mainly around asura.
So Jennah would probably only be finding out about it by the time we’re killing Zhaitan.
And it’s not exactly clear to us whether folks know where the bloodstones are. I mean, The Shining Blade likely have records of the Maguuma, Shiverpeaks and Ring of Fire bloodstones, but given how dangerous they could be I doubt that they’d let that be public knowledge – and Gadd/Vekk knowing of the Shiverpeaks bloodstone… well, asura aren’t very sharing with their knowledge, especially at that time and before (the Rata Sum archives seems to be post-GW1 in its making). So there’s really nothing to say the common people – even the Priory truth be told – know of the location of those bloodstones, let alone anyone knowing where the fourth and fifth are.

The seers intention was to save the magic from the dragons trough the bloodstone, so I’d say they used powerfull wards so that the dragons couldn’t find or claim it.

The dragons eat magic. I can’t assume that the “seal” used by the Seer wasn’t magical in nature. They were very magical creatures.

wait what?
there’s an entire story arc devoted to starving zhaitan of magical artifacts. the mouth of zhaitan raids and consumes magical artifacts that strengthen zhaitan, which is why we ambush it: to keep zhaitan from consuming the magic artifacts and absorbing their power.

“until near the end of the personal story”
He literally said that.

then why is he acting as if we couldn’t take conclusions from this piece of known information?
bloodstones are like a banquet for dragons, and thus we should be more worried about where they are and how safe they are. that’s what the OP is talking about.
I like to think of it this way. In Arah explorable there is a bloodstone shard. Now obviously it is a shard, not a full bloodstone, but still, there should be a lot of magical potential found within it, yet it was not consumed by Zhaitan. I like to think that if the Seers planned to put all of Tyria’s magic in 1 location, they had plans for keeping the ED’s from consuming that 1 thing.

Er… that’s not what I was saying at all.
What I said is that for the course of the personal story, the NPCs would not know that the Elder Dragons would see the Bloodstone as a delicacy – they may suspect it from lvl 28 storyline on, but until the Mouth of Zhaitan it’d be theory and even then the national leaders may not learn of it until Zhaitan’s death.
I was saying this in response to SlyFoxSays asking why Jennah (or others) wouldn’t make defending the bloodstones a top priority. Answer is, Jennah doesn’t know that she should (and others too). At least during the course of the personal story. Only the orders and the Pact would know, and when it was confirmed fact they were all busy taking the fight to Zhaitan.
It’d be like asking why we didn’t go to stop Abaddon during Prophecies’ events. Abaddon’s existence was unknown to everyone in Tyria at the time.

However, those shards were being used by the High Priests of the gods after they were turned Risen.
Given how many magical artifacts still exist in Orr, I figured that Zhaitan was taking his sweet time in eating. No need to gourge down on all the food you have, just to starve later because you cannot get anymore – especially when, at the time, there’s no threat to the food disappearing. As such, the magical artifacts in Arah would be mostly left untouched, with Zhaitan focusing on eating magical artifacts obtained from the outer edges of his territory – which is actually what we see the Mouth of Zhaitan eating, given how the couriers come from a dead ship that we have to sink if we cut off its food supply.

You have a point, it is a possibility that what you say is true. It’s not unlike dragons to just sit atop their closely held hoard while attempting to gain more.
It is also possible that the bloodstones were sealed/enchanted with Forgotten magic, thus making them incorruptible. What we see of the risen high priests and priestesses using could be damaged shards that got broken off during the unmaking/sundering, and instead of having the stone itself corrupted, they harnessed and tainted the leaking magic that seeped back into the environment. It would aslo explain why the strengthening with Zhaitan’s power did not corrupt the original Bloodstone – I’m still iffy on everything McCoy said in that interview (they make very little sense).
A fantasy of sci-fi cyborg implants grafted into the desiccated flesh of Guild Wars’ corpse.
I was thinking the same thing, however, it’s not entirely clear if the Forgotten were around when the Bloodstone was made. It’s still not fully clear on whether or not the Forgotten did in fact come from the Mists or not.
If they did, then that may be related to how they have magic immune to the Elder Dragons’ corruption – same with the sylvari, should the Dream of Dreams be as I theorize and be a portion of the Mists. It would mean that the Mists and things directly tied to them have resistance to the Elder Dragons’ corruption (further support: the Wolf Havroun kidnapped by the Sons of Svanir was not forcefully corrupted for some unknown reason, but tortured into using the portals – it would have been far better off for Jormag if they corrupted the Wolf Havroun instead, so why didn’t they?).

This is definitely an interesting thought. Sadly we do not know if the forgotten had anything to do with the creation of the bloodstone or if they were kept in the black. Part of me thinks it was more of a “In case of failure, Break Glass” fail safe in case the first “pact” failed for the seers. This would explain how the bloodstone quite possibly caused the war between the seer and mursaat races, although that’s theoretical. If the Mists were wholly immune to the effects of Elder Dragon Corruption, it would make for a real killer to some of the forums theories on how Elder Dragons would effect them Mists.
