I would like to learn more about the events from Guild Wars games, but I couldn’t find much. Well maybe except for some scraps scattered across the Internet.

I know there are three books that create a storyline bridge between GW and GW2. I WILL read them, but was wondering if there’s more? Any other books on the first game, events, races etc? I did play the first game a bit, but don’t remember much.

If not books, then maybe some websites? Legit ones.

Thanks!

That’s about as legit as it comes. As far as books go, those three are it, and function much more as prequels to the second game than as a bridge between the two, with the possible exception of Ghosts of Ascalon, which contains quite a bit of in-character views of how the world had changed.

R.I.P., Old Man of Auld Red Wharf. Gone but never forgotten.

On the original Guild Wars wiki you can look up the plots of Guild Wars Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, Eye of the North, and Beyond. Beyond was content they added between the release of Eye of the North and Guild Wars 2 in order to bridge the gaps between games. There are also loads of articles under the category of Lore. Any and all of those can be good references, and if you ever need information on a name or location, most of them have references to wiki pages of their own. You see the Guild Wars Wiki has been out for years and it had many, many people working hard to get it to the level it’s at today. Not me, persay, but I still appreciate their work.

Aside from the three novels you could read Guild Wars 1’s manuals which have articles on lore with some great writing in my opinion. You can find them here: http://guildwars.com/gameplay/manuals.php

Not the wiki…but contains research and articles/interviews etc. Most topics from the people that wrote the wiki.

The article “The Movement of the World” is also a great reading to know the base of the lore and changes for the GW2.

Ok. Thank you all for the advice and resources. I hoped there will be more books, cause I preffer “reading” paper, but this will also do. Cheers!

And if you don’t have the time or inclination to read everything, you may find it enjoyable to watch WoodenPotatoes’ play-through of GW1. He reads through the quest text and synthesizes the plot as he goes along. It’s sort of like an audio book: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLD624C37CD0DA0E59

He also has a more condensed lore series on his channel, as well.
