I require some assistance in terms of digging around of GW lore. I’d really appreicate it if people can help me look for banners that are used by factions. Factions as in affilations such as the Ebon Vanguard, Shinning blade, etc. Like flags. Now I’ve already looked through this websites list,

Well first, that’s the wiki for the first game.

Second, if you want banners, check out war camps belonging to a “faction”. Most will have something nearby. If you’re really hard up for them I could start trying to take tourist photographs

Haha, I know what most look like in Gw2, but I was using that for a reason. I believe I found something connected to cantha. The characters are similar to the language and maybe talks about shiro and some order or the obsidian flame. There is a icon on it that looks like it might be a blade or something. Its really hard to describe. I was hoping to find banners but the ones I’ve seen so far haven’t looked like it at all. The gw2 that I was able to find aren’t similar either.

Hrrrmn… The guild symbol of Shiro appears in one of the early Factions missions – the one with the kirin, I think – and can also be found in his entry on the wiki. The flags of the Jade Brotherhood and Am Fah are on the wiki, as are the Kurzick and Luxon flags.

Those are the ones I could find quicky – I don’t recall offhand if the Canthan empire itself has a symbol, but if it exists it’s probably be somewhere in the Raisu area. As far as I know, we haven’t been shown a symbol for the Obsidian Flame.

Yeah I saw those, but none fit. Basically the symbol looks like a circle with a small blade in the middle, at the tip of the blade there is a shield with something in it I can’t make out.

Obsidian Flame didn’t have a flag or emblem that we saw. It’d be more helpful if we knew what you were looking for. Perhaps post the emblem you’re looking to compare stuff to?

Here. I’m fairly certain its in canthan. The first word seems to be The when translated. the e looks most canthan.

Hard to tell with the small text, but the text looks like New Krytan to me. And that key in the background seems to be an inverse of the Durmand Priory’s emblem.

Where is this found?

The thing is there is no distinct indication that this is a key. There is a smudge at the bottom that points to the left, but that looks like its actually apart of the box. On top of that the 3rd letter in the first word seems to be a backwards C shape. The only character that would make sense to be at the ending of a word and have a backward C shape is the canthan letter for E.

In LA.

That’s not the Priory Emblem . . .

It almost looks like the Shining Blade but with a key instead. That’s intriguing.

It looks like the Priory key from the more detailed emblems (which effectively look like the Krytan flag on a pole that ends in a skeleton key) encircled to me.

Yeah, you’re definitely terribly off there. Canthan doesn’t have letters – it’s just ideograms with each symbol representing a full word. The only translatable alphabets in GW that translate into letters is Ascalonian, Asuran, and New Krytan. Considering this is in Lion’s Arch, it’s New Krytan.

Oh yeah you’re right. I mixed up canthan and new. My bad. Behind the fractal portal. It’s hidden.

I’m guessing it’s a Consortium sigil then.

The Consortium sigil looks like a deactivated golem. You see it all over Southsun Cove and anywhere else dealing with Consortium.

So I guessed wrong

I tried looking for it, but didn’t find anything… But, if I had to take a guess, Zhaishen Order would be my pick. I don’t think their sigil has ever been shown, and there are a bunch of Zaishen engineers nearby.

Well, you can always try out the Durmand Priory’s Library (Found in Lornar’s pass). It may not have alot of info about the factions but it will do.

Well I think that it is either elonian or canthan. The only reason that this thing would be located where it is that the person who put it there was a smuggler. Those two countries seem to be the only reasonable origination for smugglers going into LA. There is also a coin next to it, ill go get a pic.

Canonically, there’s been no contact with Cantha since Zhaitan’s rise… at all. There is, however, at least one smuggling route between Tyria and Elona – it’s used by the Order of Whispers – so if it is of foreign origin, it would likely be from there.
