Unless I missed something somewhere when i got my map completion. Indr seeing any branded centaurs, risen centaurs, etc etc.

Any other races immune to dragon corruption? I know there are spirit Kenku (possibly wrong name…. the bird-ppl) but those seem to be more of restless spirits and not actually dragon minions. Im sure there had to have been corrupted grawl somewhere but i cant think of any in particular either. (Fractal Shaman doesnt count obviously ;P)

Centaurs, kenku, and grawl immune? Is this right?

First off, it’s Tengu* and no they are a normal race, not restless spirits. Also we don’t know if they are immune to dragon corruption but it seems highly unlikely. The same applies to centaurs and grawl. I think there are icebrood grawl in the personal story, if you choose the grawl as the race you want to support.
The centaurs live in northern Kryta, where no dragon is active, the clostest would be either Jormang, Zhaitan or Primordus. But even they are relatively far away, except Primordus maybe but he does not corrupt living things and is still underground in the depths of Tyria (he is so underground in fact, that you probably never even heard of him, but I thought his minions before it was cool /puts on hipster glasses)

hmmm, and others. I think this however is a misconception. just the fact that we dont encounter them doesn’t mean they are immuun.

To quote Trahearne: ‘Undead quaggan! Zhaitan will use anything that falls prey to his servants.’

you have to understand where they live. It is very possible that Zhaitan corrupted a few, and wast keeping them out of sight for tactical reasons (centaur feed are not very good for coastal invasions or guarding the swamplike terrain of Orr).

Well for starters, there’s no Centaur in Ascalon, they all left to go over to Maguuma and Kryta where they are quite far away from all of the dragons and at war with the humans. Not to mention, Hooves may be THE WORST thing you could have if you’re in swampy or sandy terrain, you’d be heavy, and sinking in constantly, oh god they’d be little more than statues that’d wing at you if you get close.

Tengu are at war with primordius, and so far there are no signs that primordius actually corrupts any of the races to make them into his minions he just flat out forges them from molten magma and flame.

As for the Grawl, i believe there is a branded version of them, i thought i saw an event about killing a branded grawl but i’m not positive because i don’t spend much time in ascalon, and the event was just one of those that flashed up but i didn’t go to… But they’re not immune to the corruption, that’s for sure…

There is concept art around for both Risen and Icebrood centuars. Seems like they didn’t need either right at the crunch time around launch, but we might see frosted centaurs in game as the new expansion rolls out, and Risen ones might appear later in a revamp to freshen up some of the Risen zones.

There’s no branded centaurs because there’s no centaurs in Ascalon.

The only race immune to corruption would be the sylvari.

The reason why we don’t see many different kinds of destroyers, icebrood, or branded is because they’re not the focus of the story – otherwise we should be seeing icebrood and branded wurms and grawl, icebrood jotun, icebrood centaurs, branded harpies, and so forth.

There’s no risen centaurs because there’s not much interaction between the two groups – they only get near the borders of each other, and the centaurs generally don’t like risen (sylvari lvl 28 story path if you join the Whispers puts them against each other, where the centaurs make some comments about how they really really don’t like dealing with risen).

Oh haha yeah they call them Tengu in this world. They are more like the Kenku tho i believe (as Tengu = heavenly dog), and yes i was referring to the real ones not the restless spirits in orr (although that may be proof they are NOT immune to Dragon Corruption =p). My friend also said there was a storymode part with Branded Grawl, and due to their nature it makes the most sense there would be some.

I have seen the concept art for the corrupted centaurs, however saying it is geographical limitations to the dragon corruption doesnt work for me, as its only a couple of miles…

Perhaps once we get more content near Elona we will see the corrupted centaurs… in gw1 there were undead centaurs, so unless Joko is more powerful than a dragon, Id like to see some Corrupted Centaur enemies! If not, Ive been hoping they would be a playable race… however immunity to dragon corruption does not a playable race make, as we all know ;p

Unlikely, he didn’t appear in the game, you are refereing to the Great Destroyer. Also I was making a joke.
