I realize this may have been asked a few times already, but I couldn’t find anything in the forums.

I was looking at the floor of Chantry of Secrets, and I was wondering about these designs. Obviously, four of them have a Order of Whispers insignia, but what are the other three? What is the significance of the different sizes and positioning? The Order of Whispers wouldn’t just place these randomly, they have to mean something.

Kinda reminds me of that Sun symble on alot of sunspears armor/weapon
although could just be a symble of the group’s origin /Land of the golden sun

So nobody knows? Interesting. I finally found something that has the lore community stumped.

It looks like a gear to me. As someone who is an utter dilettante in the lore community, I have no theory on the significance of such if it is a gear.

Only thing that occurs to me is that they’re attached to the hips of the Whispers medium armor, with what look like knives tucked into them.

Screenshot isn’t that good for details, and I keep forgetting to check it out in-game, but if they’re the same as the medium armor’s design then I’ve always taken that to be a symbol of their Elonian origins (land of the golden sun – as mentioned, it’s similar to the Sunspear emblem somewhat).

Actually, they appear to resemble the Chantry Powering Devices, as show in the wiki under Chantry of Secrets.

I finally remembered to take a better screenshot of one of the “gear” symbols. The red parts appear to have a single letter on each one, but most of them are illegible, and the ones you can actually make out are repetitive.
